Title: Wikipedia Should Accept Donations in Crypto
Post by: admin on April 20, 2025, 09:50:41 PM
Every year the wikimedia foundation is at it again, making you feel guilty that you read their articles without donating.
If these guys allowed crypto donations, they would have had enough funds to cover 10 years or more ...

We should remind them of that. Tweet to the foundation and reply to this post.

Wikipedia is one of the biggest internet article and information industry and it has been existing before the emergence of AI and they have witnessed the happening and the innovations in the internet and other sectors in the world. So we don't have to remind them or call their attention to the crypto world. They can see big companies are accepting Cryptocurrencies for donations and payment.

Probably the founder is not a crypto friendly one and that is why they are not accepting cryptocurrency. If not this is what they would have done since.

Did they ever make an official announcement or provide any explanation as to why they tend not to accept crypto donations? Considering Wikipedia is one of the largest platforms for free article publication, it would make sense for them to maximize all possible donation channels to sustain their operations in the long run thus including bitcoin/crypto donations on their platform.
