You mean to include all the links that we have reported in the past? Or do we start from today? I had reported countless shillers from BG. Many of their post were either moved to Incentivised Posting / Shill section or trashed! So I'm a little confused.
Here is one that I noticed recently! Some of his other posts also indicate to the exchange!

Admin has only recently been made aware of the extent of this, we've just dealt with it until now as mods do. That might be part of the confusion here.
If someone were to produce a list of all the bitget shills recently, say from the start of the year, reported in the IP thread, then I imagine it'd be worth +1 karma per link :)
Mainly because I suspect an admin hammer might arrive shortly.

This list, I guess, is about BG itself mentioning only. BG shills are shilling some tokens from this exchange also to not name the exchange itself. If the topic you shared is correct, that can be the reason.

Yeah, they do that without mentioning the name, they use the event names that keeps changing once in a while, their native token, and are mentioned in the charts or any image they use in a thread and then the random project's names.
And I still wonder how they became so big with all these shady promotions. ::)

Not surprised by this. It's what you'd expect from a project that is shilling, general shadiness, facilitating and promoting scams as core business etc.
Per my comment on the previous thread though, about not blacklisting the words, if others believe it should happen then I'm not opposing. It'd be strange to have topics opened such as BG exchange hacked (again), and then for the word to be blacklisted within such discussions, but at the same time it is most of the IP/shill reports right now, so is totally due for big hammer time.
Ideally we could blacklist with a reference to this thread, or the other scam accusation? At least then every-time they shills reference the exchange, it will redirect to them :)

I'm going to be among those who would abstain. I see both positive and negative consequences of this action, so will also accept the decision of the majority as the result.

It might be worth taking such a decision to the senate as that's what it's there for, especially with difficult decisions that might be better decided collectively for broader input.
I would also abstain if not obvious by previous comment, and while I respect predominantly D team members calling for such an action to occur, it would nonetheless be better decided/influenced by elected representatives instead (granted there is some overlap there, but you get my point I think about using official channels etc). At least then if there are negative consequences or considerable opposition from users thereafter, it wouldn't be blamed on admin/president. My guess is that such a proposal might not get the necessary support in the senate, which would also be all the more reason to take that proposal there...

There's no doubt about it, not only are they shady in every sense, but I would venture to say that they use people from third world countries to do their dirty work for them and pay them in mostly worthless tokens. My opinion is that the forum has nothing to lose by blacklisting that word - but I will also say that it will not solve the problem because shills will still use other techniques to promote that company.
In this regard, my proposal is to ban beginners from posting images and direct (clickable) links until they prove that they are here with a sincere motive to be useful members of the forum.

Run a search on "Bitget" and you will see that although 75% of his posts are about that he also does "genuine" no shill posts.
Anyhow as long as the warning appears only on the hyperlink they will keep posting without it. AI generated messages and accounts can be created in seconds nowadays.

I will look into his posts later, and possibly his account will be banned if he continues this attitude.
AI garbage is unstoppable, even the tools are not much effective in identifying them, lot of false positives as well as they now offer humanize version of AI garbage to bypass AI detection.

Thanks +1, posts #Trashed, penalty notice sent and given 3 strikes (banned from posting) after multiple warnings as prime example of a BG shill. I noticed VP going similar route with 3 strikes for similar offenders, as well as new link warning from admin, so not going to overthink this decision. I'm surprised they got away with it for so long to be honest, has been a couple of months already.

After reporting countless shillers from this shaddy exchange, I have notices these patterns.
1. Won't even try to hide, directly post links from their twitter handle and blog sites!
2. Directly post images from trade view panel or certain promotional events where the name and logo is clearly visible.
3. Not directly mentioning it anywhere but would use SS from the exchange or certain trash token as a topic.
4. Will try to hide the link by using url tag. Example "Here (http://not_valid_link_obviously.com)".
5. Would break down the exchange name. Example Goo glo to hide detection.
6. Would use certain terms or feature from the exchange.
In this regard, my proposal is to ban beginners from posting images and direct (clickable) links until they prove that they are here with a sincere motive to be useful members of the forum.

A minimum rank requirement should be in place to be able to post images and links. Because no matter how hard we try, if they can get banned and come back again with a new account, without any sorts of restriction they would simply do that. In fact they are doing that at this very moment.
We report them, they abandon the account and comes back with a new one the next day!

Or what I suggested, or what exists on BTT and is called evil fee (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5349878.msg57500154#msg57500154), and it is about blocking the IP ranges from which most of the abusers come. Given that these shills are not very intelligent and that probably a lot of them actually create alt farms, this measure alone would prevent them from registering on the forum at all.
Of course, any innocent potential user who falls into this trap could be given access to the forum.

After reporting countless shillers from this shaddy exchange, I have notices these patterns.
1. Won't even try to hide, directly post links from their twitter handle and blog sites!
2. Directly post images from trade view panel or certain promotional events where the name and logo is clearly visible.
3. Not directly mentioning it anywhere but would use SS from the exchange or certain trash token as a topic.
4. Will try to hide the link by using url tag. Example "Here (http://not_valid_link_obviously.com)".
5. Would break down the exchange name. Example Goo glo to hide detection.
6. Would use certain terms or feature from the exchange.
In this regard, my proposal is to ban beginners from posting images and direct (clickable) links until they prove that they are here with a sincere motive to be useful members of the forum.

A minimum rank requirement should be in place to be able to post images and links. Because no matter how hard we try, if they can get banned and come back again with a new account, without any sorts of restriction they would simply do that. In fact they are doing that at this very moment.
We report them, they abandon the account and comes back with a new one the next day!

Or what I suggested, or what exists on BTT and is called evil fee (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5349878.msg57500154#msg57500154), and it is about blocking the IP ranges from which most of the abusers come. Given that these shills are not very intelligent and that probably a lot of them actually create alt farms, this measure alone would prevent them from registering on the forum at all.
Of course, any innocent potential user who falls into this trap could be given access to the forum.
Not a bad idea! But I doubt the admin would consider something big like that without taking a lot of time. Remember we don't even have the 2FA yet, in 2025!
By the way, is there any way to see the daily registration stats? It would give a rough idea of the situation and the potential outcome if the admin actually decides to charge an evil fee.

Top priority is karma requirement for rank promotion that was recently approved by the senate, not much else.

However, considering that most forum members don't mind this type of advertising at all, I wonder how effective such a warning will be - in the end, it won't stop the shills.

It seems that for now this will not be the case, although I do not see why, after everything presented in relation to that company, one should hesitate with that option. The only thing that makes sense to me is that these users (no matter how bad/fake they are) bring some traffic to the forum - but if we depend on them in any way then we have big problems.
I'm really curious if this link blocking has any effect on hidden links (hyperlinks), and does the admin have a solution for the images that are also used?
