Some telegram airdrops are more concerned about how much ton they can get from their community, than the project itself asking community to pay before claim is something else, after days of intense mining. What could be their reasons?

I've seen people calling such airdrop as paid airdrop. Team behind it usually claim it's to prevent cheater and bot. But i don't like this kind of airdrop since,
1. If amount of demanded TON is too low, it won't stop dedicated cheater and well-programmed bots.
2. If amount of demanded TON is too high, people will perceive it as attempt to trading their TON with token that could be worthless.

The entire industry is built on promises of making you rich or making a quick buck for your effort/coins/$/DOCs/tasks/promotions or whatever they can do to get paid for you while paying you worthless tokens.

Most of these projects will tell you that they are actually doing that to reduce the Sybil which is a very big lie, majority of those projects that ask for Ton scam projects farming their users. If a project wants to eliminate or limit Sybil there are many tools to use to do that like using Proof of humanity, activeness of the connected wallet check and many more.
The only time a project should be asking for a coin is the gas fee for claiming which is not for the project but for the miners on the blockchain for gas fee.
