french crypto millionaire (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2ew98rllxyo) said to be abducted in broad daylight one thursday by a bunch of men
the kidnappers have asked for a ransom money of 5-7 million euros fortunately the police was able to locate the location of the kidnappers and the kidnapped through phone signals but when the crypto millionaire was returned he had already lost a finger
this is not the first kidnapping incident in france associated with crypto's big personalities i have been hearing kidnapping cases in nigeria as well asking for crypto so i guess evil people have started targeting those who hold crypto the most so we must really stay careful and alert and do not let just about anyone to know about how much we are holding or the fact that we are holding at all

Kidnapping for crypto ransoms is a great concerns to that are everyone that are involved on crypto business. Actually this is not the first case, it has been reported severally on different news platforms, but serious awareness should be carried out to properly educate those that are showing off their crypto wealth to cease from such act and adopt the Low key speeches and public appearances for safety of lives.
-
It is important to remain lowkey. Whether you hold a lot or not, you should make yourself away from these evil people. Do not make a move to attract them, never flaunt your crypto assets and do not be too sharing with your personal life and assets that you own. People get the idea of what we have if we are too vocal with them. But, not all the details and assets we own should be broadcasted to them.

Now, kidnapping big time people who got crypto is getting to be a good business. That is why, if I were possessing some millions of dollar in crypto, I would make sure that nobody knows my secret so that I can still freely go anywhere I want to and if ever it is not a secret anymore I should have some bodyguards watching me over. Since there is nothing we can do to literally stop these kidnappers from doing whatever they are doing, the importance of being private with our crypto involvement is really paramount. A new era has definitely come when people can own wealth digitally and can be kidnapped by sophisticated kidnappers who are looking for access to the victim's coins and tokens.

I've been hearing about this cutting off finger for a while now. Does it signify any thing? Well it's not a new thing anymore and times without number this kinda of situation will continue to serve as lesson to those who just won't keep shut. Being a crypto holder means you own a very valuable asset and many criminals would make you their number one target and if you are not too careful you literally would end up even getting your loved ones into trouble. Let's just try to protect our identity as a crypto investor.
-
Its good that the police are quick to take action. If it weren't for the quick response there could be another finger that will be removed.
He is a millionaire, he should have had some precautions already as to where he would be going and avoid places where bad guys can find opportunity. The more he goes around while his face is known to the public, the more the bad guys can plan when they know his routine.
-
I've heard of a few similar cases, which are a lesson in the importance of maintaining privacy and not telling everyone that we have an investment in cryptocurrencies.
Some of these scenarios can be avoided by creating a passphrase with 12-24 word seeds, with the primary wallet containing around $500 and the rest of the wallets containing your wealth.

That's really sad the victim just lost his finger and he could have lost more but thanks to the police. This is really disturbing, the cases like these needs to be stopped. I mean why they are only targeting people who made money from crypto, this is not something like free money they made, it is also earned by hardwork.
Why other think those who made money from crypto is free and theirs to claim? This is really troublesome for millionaires, although I am not a one haha so I would suggest if someone is a millionaire they should hide their source of income and how much they have.

this is applicable when you are not a well known figure like the victim. small amount that i think would satisfy the kidnapper but $500 might not be enough to be satisfied.
privacy has to really be the first to be in mind if a crypto investor wants to avoid this situation. regardless of how much you have in your wallet. because the criminals better not know you have something they want.

Yeah for sure, but that works until some pussies come into the play, and when that happens, well no one can resist that and they will get lost between big boobs and forget all about the security. 😂
Besides, it's not like they are high ranking politicians to have specific routines with bodyguards 24/7, their only difference is that you could take money from them easier than others because when you are in crypto, you are a walking bank. Not to mention that anyone could sell info about the rich users of exchanges as long as they have access from inside. Reminds me of a certain noob agent trying to infiltrate kraken. 😅

kidnappers do not care how a person made his money as long as he has the opportunity to take said money he will do it kidnappers or criminals in general do not have sympathy and they will always put themselves first

kidnappers are targeting crypto associated individuals because they know crypto is where the money is a lot of people assume that if you are into crypto then you must be rich and therefore they can make a huge amount of profit from you
not only kidnappers but hackers and scammers have littered all over the crypto space trying to get as much money as they can

Unfortunately, many of these celebrities have millions invested in cryptocurrencies, but they use trading platforms or Coinbase Binance to do so. It would be easy to identify the balances of these accounts, and some even post images of their balances publicly.

Well, at least the person is still alive when they got him which is a good thing already knowing that he got kidnapped.
Kidnapping in Nigeria is pretty much common already knowing how poor the country is, but in general, kidnapping can happen in any country. This isn't crypto related event, but just a few weeks, a rich businessman got kidnapped as well by kidnappers, and unfortunately, that businessman including his driver got killed. These bad people are becoming worse and worse right now that they're even doing it even in broad daylight just like what happened in France, and it will happen again that's for sure.
