Cryptocurrency values have taken a hit as of late, but movement on the regulatory front has lifted many observers’ spirits. One crypto startup executive believes bitcoin’s price could hit $60,000 this year, despite its dip from a near $20,000 high in December to the $6,000 range.
Julian Hosp, co-founder and president of TenX, a crypto wallet, told CNBC during the RISE tech conference in Hong Kong that he expected to see bitcoin’s price fall to $5,000 when it reached its December highs, and he remains confident that a $60,000 price this year is feasible.
Positive Event Needed
Hosp acknowledged that a major positive event will be needed to achieve the $60,000 price this year. Such an event could be a country making a positive announcement about bitcoin or a bitcoin exchange traded fund coming to fruition.
Should such an event not occur, Hosp admitted it will take more time for bitcoin to reach $60,000. He said the price will need to surpass the $10,000 mark by August. Should this happen, media coverage will be positive, making the $60,000 price possible.
While many crypto observers view regulatory activity as positive, regulatory scrutiny has put downward pressure on cryptocurrency prices. Many observers were relieved when the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission stated this month that Ether and bitcoin are not securities.

In principle, this is a logical assumption. The same is known and understood by those who are familiar with crypto for a long time. I also tend to believe that before mid-August the price will not grow exactly, because large investors and traders will wait for SEC news. Read more about this in the article:

It's good that among the supporters of Bitcoin there is optimism. In August, we can see a number of positive news that will contribute to the growth of the cryptocurrency, but now summer and all traders are on holiday, so I think that before September we will not see normal growth.
-
This is a speculative technology as those known bitcoin holders will give their speculation to spread and makes people to believe it and start to buy and create a good rally. This will could be true but not a guarantee. I don't think that this could reach as high as $60k for this year. That's too much for year considering that we have lots of bad news and regulations being implemented.
-
That is a great news to hear but 60,000 is too huge. I will be happy if it reaches that peak but i doubt this could happen
-
Nice prediction but it seems impossible to achieve.
$20k to $60k is not worthy in just a year. Well, still I am open to accept that idea but I will wait for more time because we are nearer to December.
If that would be right, I think 10-50k price of bitcoin is always the right time to buy until reaching $60k.
-
If thats true then, lets all be happy. If bitcoin hits that price, the holders of bitcoin will celebrate, and also the alts will rise too. So holders and not holders should hope that, that will soon happen.

I also believe Bitcoin will hit $60.000 in this year, because Bitcoin has potential to do it.

How could we not want bitcoin, and together with it all our coins and tokens would rise in price to sky-high heights, but 60,000 dollars for bitcoin by the end of the year is not realistic. I think that the most optimal price for him will be at the level of 20 000 - 25 000 dollars. It is unlikely that investors will invest their money in a more expensive bitcoin. Still remember the events of December last year.

bitcoin will grow in price very much and more than 60 thousand, but only not this year, he still needs time
