Title: Why is Bitcoin not a legit currency?
Post by: Domithra on July 15, 2018, 02:32:44 AM
Bitcoin isn't a legit currency as of now because it is required by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) and other authoritative bodies and governments to come to terms with the operations of Bitcoin. Here is the case, the real positive concept and significance of Bitcoin is not fully understood  by these bodies in order to legalize it.

The price is too volatile to be used as a currency honestly, how the hell do you expect retailers to deal with the price fluctuating ~$500-$1000 over the course of a day?  Sorry sir you can't afford these apples because your bitcoin is worth less than it was earlier today.  I guess it could be treated like gas prices that seem to get locked in for the day, but it'd be a huge hassle for most stores to deal with.  A more stable cryptocurrency will probably be developed eventually to be used as a currency, and bitcoin will remain as a store of value.

Why is Bitcoin not a legit currency? Bitcoin is not a legitimate currency because in this world the country is different2 if bitcoin is made into a legitimate currency later its name is not digital commerce but the exchange of money between countries so not exciting and uninteresting

The digital currency involves a lot of technicalities and unless the government and those in higher authority understand and accept it, it will not be an accepted currency worldwide.

It is the first decentralized peer-to-peer payment network that is powered by its users with no central authority or middlemen. That lack of central authority is the primary reason governments are afraid of the cryptocurrency.

However it definitely recognized by most cryptocurrency traders as legit, but only for those who had exact idea and knowledge with the entire digital currency system.

I believe the very reason of this is because of the volatile and the business competition in the real world. Also bitcoin is created for decentralized purpose and seems that it is creating a deflation in the market which is many will never give favor to this.

Its just too slow and expensive for small transactions..   I don't see anything so volatile with high fees ever being a legit answer for things like coffee or gum.  Even as a digital commodity only it can be 6 figures quite easily.

This cannot be generalized as Bitcoin is legitimate in some countries whereas other countries remain neutral about it. Only a few countries have declared their stands against Bitcoin. However, the only reason pulling out these few countries is that Bitcoin offers anonymous transactions, hence can be used to fund terrorism and involve in money laundering.

In simple terms until it gets a centralized state it will not be given importance as a legal currency. In my thinking it will get the legal status with some sort of limitations depending upon the government. It is legal ,as everything happens through internet scamming is easier and this makes people term it as not legit one.

This is because the bitcoin itself is virtual currency where the physical is not visible, besides bitcoin itself hasn't been able to reach in all walks of life there are still other constraints so that bitcoin hasn't been able to be used as currency legitimate.

Bitcoin is illegal. That's its meaning. Wallets are anonymous. How can it be completely legal? States will not allow this.

Bitcoin is not a legal currency because it is not issued by the government of a country. Bitcoin is created by a group of people who come from a country. The bitcoin system is also not decentralized so it cannot be controlled by the government.

For btc to be legalised, governments must understand how it operates very well and evaluates the benefits of btc to the government. To my best of knowledge, some governments view btc as a thread to their economy probably because they can't have their tax with btc.

This is because of the nature of the bitcoin centralization, where the Government does not participate in it, set up so the Government can not provide regulation. In addition, there is still some difficulty for each region or society to be able to access the bitcoin.
