Title: Is it necessary to show sales progress on the ICO project website?
Post by: owmivmen on July 24, 2018, 08:02:53 PM
What do you think about ico projects that do not show sales progress on their website? Does the project look scam? I've seen recently that many ico projects don't show sales progress bars.

I don't think it necessarily means it's a scam, far from it in fact, but I must admit I like to see the progress of a sale too. Problem is that even if they do show sales, how do you know those figures are accurate? They could just be making up figures to attract investors. There can be any number of reasons as to why a project doesn't publicly display the figures. I find that a better way - sometimes - is to look at the address you're being asked to send the money to, can then see look to see how much money has been sent to that same address, and how many individual transactions.

It doesn't matter mate. We can trace their sale by their smart contract address. If it is Erc-20 token, then we could get the details of the wallet address in Ether scan. But I like to see the sales progress bar on the website. It attracts an investor in the first look.

Perfectly said, showing sales progress attracts investors to join the train. But using a sales project to figure out if it is a scam or not is not a right thing to do.

it is very dangerous, it should be displayed for progress like that because it is the value of assets that must be seen by investors.

if it is closed, then leave the ICO project, because it is not clear.

This is very important for investors and bounty participants. Bounty participants will be more enthusiastic to promote the ico project and will be more confident about the success of the project.
