Title: Getting Started with Altcoins [guide]
Post by: Cordillerabit on July 25, 2018, 11:16:48 AM
First you will need to transfer your bitcoins from your web wallet, hardware wallet. etc, to an exchange such as Poloniex, Bittrex or Binance. etc,
This example will use Poloniex, but the process is basically the same for the others.

First make an account on Poloniex, choose a strong password, and it's also wise to enable 2FA (2 Factor Authentication).

Transferring Bitcoin can take hours sometimes, it will require 2 confirmations on the network to be credited to your exchange account. After that you can dive in and start trading coins, here's a quick picture guide on what's going on in exchanges but there will be a more in depth thread on this.

For newbies it might be easier to use WAVES as the wallet has a built in exchange where you can trade straight away with waves based tokens

Thank you for this explanation.

Can you recommend any exchange platform for the beginners? I read on another forum that the CoinDeal (https://coindeal.com/) has a supportive interface and it's easy to use even for the rookies. Will you agree?

I see that you are using Poloniex, is this a Polish exchange platform? What about the fees? How you will evaluate it?

OK, thank you. So you do not recommend this Poloniex site? And how about your experience with CoinDeal? They also have low fees but I think Binance is much more popular. And I did not hear about Bittrex, but I will check it. Thank you for your valuable post!
