Title: Litecoin is silver, will bitcoin remain the gold of crypto?
Post by: Bobcrypto on July 27, 2018, 09:44:30 AM
Gold is a precious metal with an extremely limited supply, and silver is a precious metal, limited in supply, but not to the degree of gold. The historic gold/silver ratio is right around 16:1, meaning 16 ounces of silver would equal 1 ounce of gold. The current ratio of gold to silver is approximately 64:1, or 0.015625. Bitcoin was designed to be a digital equivalent of gold, and thus has an extremely limited supply, and is “mined” in a digital representation of gold mining. Litecoin is limited in supply, but not to the degree of Bitcoin. The designed ratio between BTC and LTC is 4:1, meaning that in the ultimate final count, there will be four litecoins for every one bitcoin. If this is true, can bitcoin remain the gold while other coin/token be silver and  diamond respectively? Thank you

Bitcoin, the father of all cryptos is the gold and will continue to be number one crypto currency for now and I believe ethereum rather will be the silver and probably bronze for litecoin.

I  think  the window of opportunity is gradually closing, and this is the right time to invest in cryptocurrencies such as LTC. Litecoin is set for a bullish run, and there is a high possibility it will move up to the $100 price mark in the next couple of weeks at max.

bitcoin will always be crypto gold and litecoin like silver which accompanies the bitcoin journey, but besides mentioning litecoin as silver there is ethereum which is better called silver.

For me Litecoin is only at 5th rank. Bitcoin is 1st, 2nd is Eth, 3rd is xrp, 4th is BCH than Litecoin. Litecoin’s technology or transactions speed,  network can’t compare to the rest

He points out that Litecoin is faster than Bitcoin and more agile because its corporate governance structure allows it to try new things and experiment more quickly. In that sense, Litecoin is like a ‘Petri dish’ for the more popular Bitcoin, or to use a sports analogy, it’s the ‘minor league’ farm team for the Bitcoin blockchain, where new ideas and tech improvements can be tested before being implemented by Bitcoin.

I like Litecoin, but I doubt that it can become gold. I believe that Bitcoin and Litecoin will develop in parallel with each other and their price ratio will continue, at least for a few more years. But I do not rule out the possibility that Litecoin may strengthen its position in the crypto market and move closer to Bitcoin in the next 3-4 years.

Bitcoin is the king of all crypto coins. I don't compare Bitcoin with gold and Light coin with Silver because both are digital coins and Gold is the most used holding assets in the world. It is very impossible for LTC to be 1/4 of Bitcoin in the near future but in the long run, we have to watch its movements.

When you say gold is extremely limited in supply, I don't really understand. Bitcoin is known to have a total supply of 21 million supply, that's much, but has been limited to that volume (except something new happens to the supply), gold is not know because it is a natural and a precious stone of nature.

If I get you right, 4 ltc to 1 btc? If that's what you means, I do not agree with you(except am wrong). The current price of Litecoin is $24.6 per one, and bitcoin is $3,470 per one. The difference between them is too much.

Bitcoin is the number one of crypto currencies and the crypto space at large.

Litecoin is one of the potential coins whose transactions take lesser time and are safer than other coins. Litecoin is more accessible to the people than Bitcoin hence known as “silver” of crypto world and Bitcoin referred to as “gold” of the crypto world.

Litecoin offers lowered transaction fees than other cryptos. So people prefer to buy Litecoin. But as the crypto market is down currently, the trading of Litecoin has decreased.

The litecoin to bitcoin exchange (http://seo abuse/litecoin/litecoin-to-bitcoin) gives you 0.0084 BTC and is a good range to exchange. Coinswitch exchange enables one to compare and exchange the coins at the best rate by comparing the price across many leading exchanges.

A very strange comparison in my opinion because Gold and Silver are definitely different from the comparison between Bitcoin and LiteCoin.
Gold and Silver are items that are clearly seen by the eyes of physical form but Bitcoin and LiteCoin are definitely different from physical because they are only digital and are certainly not certain by hand, far different from Gold and Silver.

Certainly the difference with the price is also far different, right?
