The price of coins or tokens at the ICO stage is determined by the teams plans for the project.But after it being listed then the token price becomes the real value of the token based on the market demand.
So the ICO stages gives away bonuses and if the coin increase in value after the ICO then the investors will enjoy a great deal of profit.
Therefore it is important to really do an indept assessment the project before investing in its ICO. You shouldn't just base the decision on the bonus allocation.

Yes you right, people become afraid of numerous scam project to invest after ICOs but it is much more profitable to invest during ICOs for better profit margin than buying when the coin/token is on exchanges. I also advice you to carry out proper research on most ICOs out there before investing durig ICOs.

It is still depends on the ICO. If the ico is good and has a good ratings, it is better to purchase it in the ico. But sometimes, when it hits on the exchange the price of the coin goes to below ico.

It would be more reasonable to buy coins after they appear on stock exchanges, since it is likely that their value will be several times lower than the price at the ICO stage. But first, if everyone expects a coin on exchanges and does not support the project at the ICO stage, then it will not collect the required amount of investments, and secondly, from some projects the value of coins after appearing on the exchanges increases several times, and then you will already miss the opportunity purchase them at a bargain price. For the more benefits, I think to buy in ICO is still best choice. But for the safest investment, to buy when the tokens are already on the exchange is the best way. You can choose your investment style. It depends on you. ;D

For now where most of the ICOs are dropping after listed to an exchange market so I prefer to wait for the coins to be listed in exchange market before investing to avoid any losses.

I will buy in ICO for the more profits. For me, to take a risk is the only way in investment. But when I can see a chance to buy tokens once it has listed on Exchange, I also will do it. Maybe I can take an arbitrace with the price gap.

I can't guess correctly but the facts are like that.
Maybe the investor is also afraid that the price of the token he bought will go down after entering the Exchange.
So it might be better if they sell it after entering the Exchange.

It's too simple. If you get it in the earliest pre-sale with largest bonus, go for it. If you are late on it wait for getting it listed on an exchange. Buying in the main sale seems a stupid idea to me. Sometimes it even gets cheaper than pre-sale on exchange considering the time these ICO holds your money.

I think the best answer to your question is buy doing both. With doing that thing can tell you exactly the very accurate answer but since it is a trial days better to not invest too much during ico and don't buy too much while the coins is on the market.

There is indeed no universal answer to this question. If you observe and see, that there is a huge demand going after a certain ICO it would probably be good to participate in it, but even in these situations you can get easily burned as more and more people are only thinking about flipping.

for us if you don't have enough capital, try joining the ICO, because the price can double if you really choose in ICO coins, the price is quite cheap, if you get prices on the market, I think the price will also be more expensive.

looking at the current market situation that is down it's better to buy at the beginning of the pre sale to get a cheap price with a big bonus. but if you are late for the pre sale it is better to wait until token list in the market.
because I see when the market is red like this many coins enter the market, the price is far from ico.

For my suggestion you can do it. You need to study it first, so you do not have to blame. I just share my experience, about this in an ico project the name is DIW more double than ever when in exchange. When their project is not finished yet the token is so expensive. Bonuses is what make sense to buy during ICO level than in exchange site buying. Attraction is important to invite the possible supporters.

If you believe in a project I think you should buy in ICO or even better in Pre-ICO or private sale to have a huge bonus.

I prefer to buy when on exchange than to buy during ICO. There are several scam projects out there that you can't even identify the right ones. I believe to save yourself of scam, just buy as soon as it hits market.

I think it is better to trust your instincts. Check the ICO thoroughly and check the advantage and disadvantages of buying during and after the ICO. If we buy during the ICO it would be cheaper and might get bonuses, depending on the ICO of course. But if you buy after it is in the exchange, you can be sure that it is not a scam and get the real value of the coin. Or maybe you can do both to be sure about it.

the price of coins that touched below ico prices after the exchange? I am sure that the project has failed, it should be able to touch ico's price higher, about 5 times the ico price after the project entered the exchange.
but if you want to buy it doesn't matter, but for me, I won't buy it :)

I think 50/50 investment is better during ICO and in exchange. If you are small time invest what you think you can afford to lose whether in ICO or in exchange. The dumpers and pumpers groups are waiting to do some regular and irregular activities. Take care!

Not all value really increase in price, some projects hits lower than expected when it list on exchanges. For assurance of your money it is more secure when you buy coins when the price is stable (after it list on exchanges) and make atleast 1 week to buy, just monitor the pump and dump of the token you want. I think for assurance of your money it is more secure when you buy coins when the price is stable.But be careful the dumpers and pumpers groups are waiting to do some regular and irregular activities.

Right now it is not the best time to buy ICO tokens. The market is crashing so hard. All the ICO's consider their hard cap more than 50 million dollars whereas most of the qualified coins worth less than 20 million dollars.

I personally think that buying in ICO is a big loss unless they are suggestion some kind of ICO benefits for those participants. But usually its much better to buy from exchange than at ICO phase :)

It seems like that, we have to wait for the coin to enter the exchange first, then buy it. because as you say, ICO Coins that go down when coins enter the market. but to try your luck it doesn't hurt us to buy coins while still ICO, but we have to do research first about the ICO that we will invest right. don't let our money disappear in vain.

It's better for me to wait for the Exchange in Trade rather than having to buy and invest in an ICO that is in poor condition now. I think this is a good decision for me to wait for good Coins and the potential price drops, because that is a good opportunity for me to buy tokens at low prices.

i am into waiting for the exchange. most of the icos today after listing to exchange it just suddenly drops in over 50% from the ICO price. This is reality of almost all projects that currently survive the market condition.

I think the safest way is to wait for the exchanges. By means of this you will know if the ICO is a scam or not. Wait until the price is very low and buy it but be careful as some coins cannot recover when it crash.

I think it is better to buy during exchange because most tokens do not reach exchange hence if you buy it, the tokens will turn into shit coins. During exchange too, you can monitor the price of the tokens.

For me it will really depends on the project because of some bonuses they giving sometimes it's really good to buy on ICO but it's true that most of them are not really meet the price that they expecting when they get listed on the exchange that's why there's a chance that you will have more tokens or coins if you will buy on it than participating on ICO.

If you can participate during pre-sale that offer a lot of bonuses than maybe It will be profitable but if you buy during the public sale the chance is very thin. But remember that almost ICO during 2017 has failed its promises.

Yes, I think so. To buy tokens when they have been listed on exchanges, is a smart move. But if all investors do it, I am afraid that many ICOs will fail and be hard to reach softcap since some ICOs list the tokens on exchanges when token sale period for ICO ended.

Yes, exactly. Waiting for the right time to exchange and if you can buy a new token again. Because by buying a new token again, we can have a backup token for our income. On the other hand the coin price is still low, it's a good opportunity to buy coins or tokens at low prices too.

if you believe in a project by doing research after seeing their Whitepaper, I think you need to invest in ICO, when ICO you will get a discount and this is your benefit if the project is successful.

I think everybody is aware that there is always that huge dump after an ICO so many would just wait for that and buy with less risk. There are also those who would invest during the ICO phase for cheaper price then immediately sell once it hits exchanges for a good profit. So I guess it all depends on ones risk appetite.
