I agree that this is a drop in the sea, but even such a step is very important and will be very useful in the future because their mistakes can be learned.

Having a currency controlled by a national government doesn't really scream 'decentralization', but I guess it's a vote of confidence for the sector. A digital currency is not the same as a decentralized one, just a sign that a cashless society is moving closer and closer. I am 100% positive that cashless will happen in my lifetime, not so positive that decentralized will take over, although I would be very happy if it happened.
