Title: Ledger nano s addresses
Post by: paolobaltimori on August 09, 2018, 12:36:05 PM
A thing I don’t understand is that I have for example 5 eth addresses if I login with my ledger nano s to myetherwallet but a third person can know if these 5 addresses are linked to this ledger or they are anonymous so that no one can know that for example first and second address belong to same ledger ?o

NO, a third party cannot know if the addresses are linked to the same hardware wallet.

Correct, don't worry, no one can see the addresses are linked to the same wallet.. however if you sent transactions back and forth it creates sort of a paper trail but really if you aren't scamming or doing something illegal, the paper trail wouldn't even really matter.. but by default...no one will know just by default.

Yes no one have access to know those five wallet address are belongs to same hardware wallet, when you receive found you don't need to say the sender that wallet attach with ladder nano s. Only when you want to send fund then MEW will ask you which kinds of wallet is it, is it belongs to or attach with ledger nano s or trezor or something else. One thing more if you don't make transaction between these 5 wallet then not to worry no body would know they are connected with each other.
Thank a lot.

"I myself am still not used to using ledgers as storage of my crypto money, maybe I hope the ledger as a crypto storage place is safe for me. I also hope here friends can help me and you in adding information about the ledger. so I would rather believe that using a ledger as a crypto storage is truly safe, especially safe from hackers.

No one can know or have access to your personal wallet. But you will be asked what type of wallet you have, when you make a transaction to My Ether Wallet. So no one will know, your wallet is connected to one another.
