Title: How much watts does a computer with 4 GPU needs?
Post by: jesuschrist! on August 11, 2018, 08:40:56 PM

if say I have a 1600 WATT for this powersupply but I have about 4 GPUS mining ETH and XMR, how much watts should my wind turbine produce to supply this mining rig? i have no mining experience yet but if i do mine, i would have to set up a wind turbine for the electricity because electricity in my country is not cheap. so this is just a plan for now.

I think 1000W for a power supply will do but if you have a better performance you may choose a higher wattage and avoid heat most especially the mining rig is working 24 hours everyday.

It depends what kind of video card did you use, like for example Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti wattage 250w x4= 1000 plus
50wx1   =  50w   for the motherborad
                130w  for the processor
                10W   SATA Hard Drives
                12w    Four sticks DDR3
    total      1202w
So if you have 1600w i think that's enough.
