Square, one of the most prestigious and popular mobile payment companies in North America, now allows all its users to buy and sell Bitcoin using its Cash App in all 50 states of the United States.
The company, co-founded by Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, announced the expansion of its service through a tweet last Monday, months after it launched the Bitcoin service for investors in the country.
Square would have previously launched its Bitcoin purchase option using its Cash App in January after a trial phase started last year. However, the service was not available in states such as Wyoming, Hawaii, New York and Georgia due to its more restrictive internal regulations regarding transactions with Bitcoin.
In fact, Coinbase would have suspended its Bitcoin purchase service in Hawaii last year following pressures from state regulators who requested that the company have capital reserves equivalent to all funds in cryptocurrencies protected by its customers.
