Thursday, August 23, the Commission on securities and stock exchanges of the USA will consider the question of launching a bitcoin ETF on the new York stock exchange (NYSE) from ProShares. The basis for exchange traded funds will be based on futures that are traded on the CME and the CBOE, and not the assets themselves, according to CoinDesk.

The first application for the launch of cryptocurrency ETF ProShares was sent in September last year. Then the company admitted that the market is not yet ready for this investment instrument. In the spring of 2018 has reported that the SEC began to study the proposal for the Bitcoin ETF and Short the Bitcoin ETF from ProShares.
At the moment, the securities and exchange Commission has not approved any such application, it rejected the proposal of the Winklevoss brothers and postponed the meeting on the exchange of funds from the companies VanEck and SolidX. The value of cryptocurrencies decreased after each negative decision of the financial regulator.

Many experts believe that bitcoin-ETF is not the most important event in the digital money market. This is the opinion of the Creator of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin and head of hedge Fund Pantera Capital Dan Morehead. Others believe that approval of an investment instrument will not do any good.
According to the author of books about digital money Andreas Antopolis, bitcoin ETF will create new opportunities for the manipulation of the market. He agrees with cryptography specialist Nick Szabo, he is sure that cryptocurrency does not need money from wall street.
