Title: Are there enough crypto currency exchanges ?
Post by: Munareal on August 28, 2018, 05:12:50 PM
There are over 500 crypto currency exchanges in existence with new ones created by the day. Should there be a limit to the number of crypto currency exchanges in the crypto marketplace?

Yes must be unambiguously! the number of exchanges is growing, the number of tokens is also-it does not lead to anything normal - it's just garbage and garbage should be removed.

Currently the number of exchanges is too much, especially when we consider about the marketcap volume and the number of users. Trade voume is too low in some exchanges. In some cases you can not even make day trading because of the zero volume.

IMO, not until a few do it right.. or atleast better than the norm... even Binance and Bitfinex, the exchanges I like the most have design problems that need to be addressed with more professional instruments to use.. also DEXs are just in their infancy stages as far as design and adoption are concerned.. I welcome all the competition til a few market leaders really show the ability to take us to that next step.

It's irrelevant whether you, I, or anyone else thinks there are too many exchanges. It's a free market, and if someone wants to create their own, then they're more than welcome. The challenge for the exchanges is penetrating the market. Setting up a decent exchange where the volume will be enough to make money is not easy. From a trading point of view, just be careful which exchanges you use. I have only used 8 so far, but would have no problem using another one if it matched my needs.

The many exchanges to choose from is better than only few because of competition. If there are many exchanges then you could choose well on which exchanges are less transactions fees and which has the good services and a user friendly. If the exchanges are few then expect a higher fees and bad quality of services.

Many exchanges is a good sign that this technology has money flowing in the market and this will challenge those existing exchanges to improve their system as not to left behind by those newly activated exchanges. Exchanges is the best business in crypto as more developer will take a chance to enter with their revolutionize ideas. Hoping that they will get attention by those traders and investors.

It's almost like a dot com crisis back in a day, where early online shops were successful, and everyone was making online shops.  But eventually the big players came out on top, and everyone else fell off.  If they all have enough customers to keep operating, more power to them.  But I think the bigger players will dominate, even if they have worse fees, it's because of these fees that they can advertise like crazy.

Demand rodzhat offers. A set of exchanges it is normal. Better a lot of things it isn't enough because it is a way to improvement due to the competition. The best have to gain volumes and become is more popular

There must be healthy competition. This is the only way exchanges will seek to improve their interface and meet the needs of users.

I do not know about having limits. It is a good thing to have many in my opinion. It could lead to lower listing fees and trading fees.

There must be healthy competition. The user will choose a convenient exchange. Those exchanges that do not have convenient and fast functionality, low fees-will die by themselves, unable to withstand competition.

Nowadays there are many new crypto sprung up. To be honest I am happy with the many coins because this proves that crypto is increasingly known to people. If this is the case, then I'm sure the crypto value will get better.

There's huge competition in the exchange sphere, so i think yes there are enough.
Unfortunately most of them are centralized exchange, but many big players(binance, NEX for example) are working on their decentralized exchanges which are a must have in a truly decentralized ecosystem.
