Post by: dalaganicole on September 03, 2018, 08:50:08 AM
Bitcoin prices slipped on Monday, while Ethereum, XRP and Litecoin lost more than 3%. Japan’s Line Corp (NYSE:LN) announced on Friday that it would launch a cryptocurrency in September.

Bitcoin edged down by 0.5% to $7,208.4 at 12:55AM ET (04:55 GMT) on the Bitifinex exchange, and Ethereum fell 2.9% to $288.93.

Meanwhile, XRP traded at $0.33635, down by 3.4% in the last 24 hours on the Poloniex exchange, while Litecoin was also down 3.5% to $64.772.

The Japanese messaging app operator Line said the new digital coin, named “LINK”, would be given to its customers as rewards and could be traded with other cryptocurrencies.

Citing regulatory reasons, Line noted that LINK is not available for users in Japan and the U.S for now.

In other news, Yahoo (NASDAQ:AABA) has reportedly launched a service to allow its users to trade digital coins directly through its platform.

Citing a recent announcement made by Yahoo, Cryptstorm reported on Sunday that the company will be partnering with financial API developer Tradelt to enable users to trade cryptocurrency within Yahoo Finance.

“As the leading provider of financial data, insights, and editorial content, we are constantly looking for ways to better serve audiences on the Yahoo Finance platform,” said Joanna Lambert, general manager of finance and tech at Oath, Yahoo’s parent company.

“We first launched our integration with TradeIt one year ago, allowing people to trade on Yahoo Finance for the first time ever. We’re excited to expand this offering to cryptocurrencies, further connecting our passionate community of investors with relevant utilities on our trusted platform,” Lambert added.

Yahoo’s crypto trading features are now available only on the iOS version of the Yahoo Finance mobile applications, according to Cryptstorm.
