I have recently been into altcoin trading. I just want to know, does the price of bitcoin affect the price of other cryptocurrencies as well? How? I really want to know. I have noticed that ever since the bitcoin price pumped up and reached 4,000 USD, the price of the altcoins had gone really really low. I almost lost my investment due to this sudden drop. Does bitcoin price have something to do with this?

Bitcoin has been the father of all cryptocurrencies. A lot of people have been trading the coin in large quantities and altcoin activities tend to fund bitcoin. People use bitcoin to buy or trade altcoin so bitcoin activities, someway some how, also fund altcoin. Because of this effect, a drop in bitcoin will definitely affect altcoin.
-
As you should have mention already Bitcoin is the first and most valuable coin and other coins are following it.
When it rises - they rise too. Not it has fallen a lot and on the other coins - they're also getting less and less valuable.
-
It's no secret that due to the largest volume of capitalization and popularity, Bitcoin significantly influences the market of altcoins. In fact, the cost of most known coins depends on the BTC. Therefore, we can talk about restoring the market only after the price of the first cryptocurrency has stabilized and will start to grow in the long term.
-
bitcoin is a coin that first leads and suffered a surge so great, because of the bitcoin also many popping up coin-coin a new try to compete and have the same achievement. Thus bitcoin has an impact on other coins.
-
Its because almost all trading pairs are based on Bitcoin. ETH/BTC, XMR/BTC. So there's a lot of impact on altcoins pricing. So its really hard not to be dependent on it unless BTC no longer considered as top coins.
-
as we know bitcoin is the first coin that leads and bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrency currencies. many people trade this coin in large numbers and people use bitcoin to sell or exchange alcoins with bitcoin activity. and it's no secret that because of the volume of capitalization and the biggest popularity of bitcoin can significantly affect the altcoin market. the cost of coins that are best known depends on bitoin. so it will be very difficult not to depend on it unless bitcoin is not considered a top coin.

Bitcoin is the main source of this volatile market. It is the biggest and the most intense coin that can lead the prices into high or low price. That's how powerful bitcoin is and more spectacular actions to happen.
-
I think this is because the coin is bitcoin has indeed really trusted, moreover, the achievement history made him increasingly sought after and popular, so many new coins appeared with the hope of fulfilling the request and look forward to competing with bitcoin, bitcoin has contributions in delivering price effect ups and downs of prices.
-
Hey, more and more new cryptocurrencies appear, which makes them more and more popular.

Because bitcoin is the King of crypto currency. Bitcoin price will affect other crypto. Bitcoin is more popular and more valuable. It is so high demand.
-
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that was born for the first time, not a few who say that Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency, so it's normal for me to think that the price of Bitcoin has a huge effect on the price of altcoins on the market.

Probably the reason is BTC paired up mostly on the altcoins on exchanges. When btc dumped, of course there should be a correction on the price inputs of the tokens and coins paired with it. Sounds hurting but it's true. You cannot deny the fact that BTC has been now served as half body of the altcoin. Once it pumped some coins can increase based on price valuation. Except those potential coin that pumped on theit own growth of course.
If the altcoin can be paired on fiat currency then btc can be segregate on the demand and will not affect the market. But it will take time before this will happen.
-
This is because the bitcoin is a coin that was first able to give great progress and has the highest price peak, making it the parent of all the coins. for it is reasonable only if the movement of the bitcoin has influence and give the effect on other coins.
-
some people say that when bitcoin grows, then the altcoin is low in price, and vice versa, but I do not notice such a thing. I see the following when the bitcoin grows, then the whole market grows
-
Thats easy to understand one thing altcoins are all traded against bitcoin, soo any moove over bitcoin value will push up/down altcoins, some of them are able to follow bitcoin for a while since are based into it, but in the general the trend is to go at opost direction then bitcoin. Bitcoin where and still being the most power crypto and the first, altcoins camed after bitcoin trying to get similiar results and improve some issues that bitcoin could had, nowadays we do see a lot ico wich will be focus into some area, because bitcoin has been present at all, but isnt focus into nothing else besides provide a strong and safe way to moove money.
-
It is because bitcoin is the king of crypto that have full power to change the motion anytime and anywhere. It is the most influential coin that can dominate other coins.
-
the exact price of bitcoin will have an impact on the price of other coins because Bitcoin is the parent of cryptocurrency and bitcoin also has volatile market prices, although many new coin coins are increasingly popular but bitcoin remains the cryptocurrency leader

BTC affect the other crypto because Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency. It is more profitable and more popular than other. It also so high demand.
-
Probably because many Bitcoin users are also users of the coins in Altcoin. So if Bitcoin goes down, Altcoin will also be affected by its market by decreasing Bitcoin. Maybe that, that's all I or from this. Maybe someone wants to have another opinion?
-
As you should have mention already Bitcoin is the first and most valuable coin and other coins are following it.
When it rises - they rise too.

maybe because bitcoin is the most expensive coin among other coins, maybe because that btc affects the other crypto

I think bitcoin price affected the value of altcoins. But I believe at the future It will nit happen. When the altcoins are very popular and so high demand.
-
Since bitcoin was popular and many people know and use that other crypto was doing step to most enhance their crypto and they compete each other and everytime bitcoin price increase most of all altcoin will decrease because most of all altcoin price following, when the bitcoin price come back into the normal price or going down, the altcoin price will go up again.

This isn't always the case mate. If bitcoin price goes up, why altcoin price will go down? I think you're barking on the wrong idea here. Bitcoin price will go down and up based on demand. Altcoin is leverage price with the bitcoin as it paired by most alts but it doesn't mean that price will likely to go down because the price are being set to normal price as the changes on the value favor. It's not being depreciated mate, the alts are just reprice to which its value should based on btc adjustment.

Bitcoin really influences market conditions on all coins in Altcoin, but there are some that are not affected. Indeed, we can guess that the owner of Bitcoin will surely have one or several Altcoins as well, so if Bitcoin goes down, Altcoin automatically goes down if the user sells one or several Altcoins too. That's according to my audience, there might be a wrong justification.

yes right as you say that bitcoin is the first and most valuable coin. and it's no secret that because of the biggest volume of capitalization and popularity. bitcoin significantly affects the altcoin market and even famous coins depend on bitcoin.

maybe because bitcoin is the first coin in crypto, the price is very high, so it's called the king of coins, maybe that's why the price of bitcoin is very influential with the rise and fall of other coin prices .
