Title: Will the governments kill cryptocurrencies?
Post by: Blue shark on September 20, 2018, 12:31:19 PM
Some governments are starting to embrace blockchain and cryptocurrencies and others are literally closing the doors to this technology. Do you think governments will continue to fight back against cryptocurrencies and decentralization?

I believe the government will only be able to intervene in the crypto market to a small extent and the crypto market will be limited as well as trading. The bitcoin world is still in business and the government can not be banned. Bitcoin is now a global trend and potential perception for mankind. No one removes it.

If your investment should be prepared too, as a result of finance will build cash or lose cash. Investment is typically uninsured  by corporation sort of a checking account, which implies that there's the potential to lose cash forever. Investment is that the solely thanks to sustain with inflation. i think crypto are recovery next year.

I believe that to adopt or to kill this technology from happening is all based on the conflict of interest if it is of gains to government they will surely adopt it and likewise for the opposite.

It won't be so bad. I think some regulations are needed. Cryptocurrencies market is wild sometimes and government control may help to prevent crimes (like this one in South Africa few weeks ago, when robbers almost killed a guy just for his Bitcoins - whole story on spam blocked b (https://www.spam blocked b/man-drugged-beaten-and-almost-killed-for-btc/)). So I hope that regulations will be more helpful than harmful.

Governments will not kill the cryptocurrency, they will soon begin to regulate cryptocurrency, because they know that they can make billions on this and they know that we can move forward with improved technology.

There are some governments are catching up with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. And they are crushing them. A couple of days after announcing that Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) are “seriously disrupted the economic and financial order,” the Chinese government banned ICO funding. That was certainly bad news for cryptocurrencies, which crushed across the board, with Bitcoin losing close to 10 percent, Ethereum 21.74%, Litecoin 24.92% and BitConnect 32.10%. The Chinese government’s heavy-handed action against digital currencies comes two months after the SEC ruled that cryptocurrency “IPOs” or ICOs are investments, and therefore, should be subject to the same rules as regular stocks.  The Chinese and American governments aren’t alone. Last week, the Russian government opened a criminal investigation involving Bitcoin, while  the Venezuelan government has been jailing Bitcoin miners.

Authorities around the world worry that cryptocurrencies could become tax havens. Take David Drake, whose New York-based family office has more than $10 million in cryptocurrency and blockchain investments. He’s using digital money like an offshore bank account -- a place to legally park overseas business profits and reduce U.S. taxes. British Prime Minister Theresa May and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are among the world leaders who’ve expressed alarm at the rise of virtual cash to move money offshore. The U.S. Congress held hearings this month, and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin called on the world’s 20 biggest economies to work together to make sure cryptocurrencies don’t “become the next Swiss bank account.” The concern comes after a successful international crackdown on tax havens in traditional banking.

After all, fiat currencies are not backed by any tangible assets. You can’t return the currency to the government in exchange for a bar of gold or silver, a can of beans, a pack of cigarettes, or any other items that might have value to you.

I think that many countries do not even know in detail about cryptocurrencies. I think that for many states it remains a fraudulent matter. Many of my friends are sure that this is a financial fraud. They have no argument. I think some states think the same way.

Most governments see cryptocurrencies as a threat to their national currencies and economy and as such they'll continue to fight it. Unfortunately, some of them see it as some conduit to perpetrate fraudulent activities, without having to get down to how beneficial it would be to their day to day running

I have not yet heard that the government of any state would close its doors to blockchain technology. Absolutely all states highly appreciated the advantages of the blockchain technology, even those who prohibit the circulation of cryptocurrency.
With regard to cryptocurrency, then indeed, over time, we should expect that some governments will tighten the circulation of cryptocurrency. Everything will depend on the direction in which the cryptocurrency will continue to develop.

basically, there are many countries that accept crypto and there are also some countries that do not accept crypto. I think a government has rules about that. we can only follow the rules in our own country. but I think if we can use crypto well, we will also get the benefit from it.

There is indeed a government that does not directly kill the monetary market. But policies and restrictions will limit the development of currency. It's just a limitation in terms of not being able to ban all people from entering the money market and they are looking for ways to collect fees and taxes.

Governments are capable if they unite to come against it but more advantages of the coin is coming up than the disadvantages. The last UN meeting shows the diverse veiw among governments, which is helpful. More so people now know that bitcoin is not all about buying weapon and drugs. Even though coins are coming up daily and getting delisted, some have great potential for use to improve impeding problems in its environment.

Remember they have government who accept and supported cryptocurrency and other are against. Before they ban cryptocurrency they need to all government against crypto to ban. But because they have government in different country who are supporter of crypto I think to the people against crypto it's hard for them to ban cryptocurrency.

They said they are up to support it which is why they are regulating thru SEC. It kind of make sense but there seem signs that they are also trying to kill it. If you wonder how, take a look at the prices Smiley Its going to be a struggle to kill cryptocurrencies though. There are less than 5% in the world who are using it as they say but they are already trying to kill crypto, you can imagine how scared they are once it will increase up to 10%.

Government is about to regulate cryptocurrencies. There is no need to kill or destroy it. On the contrary, they can get tax from cryptocurrencies.

Governments control fiat currencies. They use central banks to issue or destroy money . Using what is known as monetary policy to exert economic influence. They also dictate how fiat currencies can be transferred, enabling them to track currency movement.  Instead of killing , they will find ways to create or adopt the existing crypto currencies because they will not be defeating crypto currencies .
