Title: The problem with Dogecoin Core
Post by: alexbit on September 21, 2018, 01:47:13 PM
Good afternoon distinguished formants!
I ask to help with the restoration of the forgotten password from the wallet Dogecoin Core. Please give advice on recovery. :'(
In order to change the password, you must enter the old (forgotten).

Did you also backup your private keys or only the encrypted wallet? If you don't have the private key, no password means no access to funds basically. Otherwise, if you think about it, encrypting the wallet to make the wallet.dat file more secure, would be completely pointless.
If you don't have the keys backed up then you could try brute force attacks using: https://github.com/glv2/bruteforce-wallet
For this you are best off generating your own dictionary list based on words/numbers/characters you think you might of used.liklihood
But the likelihood is, if you have a good password, you won't be able to crack the password. I'd give up after a week personally.
Best of luck recovering your Doge!

I downloaded and unzipped the archive, but I do not understand how to start selecting the password. (

experiencing a password forgetting is a very annoying thing, because we know it will be very disturbing, but I think everything must be a way to get our password back again, and you should send a ticket or notification via e-mail by sending a password forgotten message.

it's true and you should be able to return to the initial email to provide or send a ticket for your password recovery.

Dash core should have done nothing to your doge wallet unless it for some reason was writing data to the dogecoin data directory. If it was, then it us possible that the wallet became messed up.

Can you give us the exact error that appears when you try starting up Doge core? Perhaps a screenshot?

My wallet, the problem is in a forgotten password from the Dogecoin Core wallet. I am looking for a way to recover, the password is not complicated, perhaps from some numbers, but it needs to be solved in any case. :(
I posted all the screenshots above.
