To identify a scam token or cannot be seen from the developer. Usually developers no longer provide information related to token projects on their telegram or twitter.
-
my personal advice if you want to avoid scam an ico start reading the whitepaper provided by ico where whitepaper in my opinion is very important because there are any projects and we can determine the prospect of ico in the future whether good or not because usually the whitepaper that is made looks bad or tend to be hastily potential scam. if for dair airdrop as you mentioned above I rarely follow airdrop. because in my opinion there are too many scams there.
-
Read their whitepaper and do some research 😄 thinkwise before you join.that is supposed to do.
-
r in my opinion is very important because there are any projects and we can determine the prospect of ico in the future whether good or not because usually the whitepaper that is made looks bad or tend to be hastily potential scam.
-
Finding if a project legit. You have to exmaine the teams members, their experience and also enalyze the goal of the project if it worth it
-
I identifying if token is a scam or not will have to do with some deep research about the project owners, and how they are delivering their promises. Although some looks good from the beginning but later turned to scam.
-
As for me I think to identify a scam coin is by asking the owner of the project should be able to provide a third party document or profile if the person cannot provide it. I think this is one of the way we can identify such.
-
I am always trying to find project's GitHub account, because usually fake projects have no such of. Legit projects usually keep their code in there and this is very important.
-
So far, fraud can be identified so far only through its own efforts, by conducting a detailed analysis, studying the project!

I think It is difficult. We should learn the white paper and the man behind the project. We also follow the team at social media.
-
usually, A scam token is not have a price on the market and that makes many people get the losses. we must be more careful in choosing a token in order that we can avoid the losses and gain the profits.
-
There are many signs to recognize an ICO / Token scam. The way I usually do that is to look up information on the ICO project and see which ICO was created in which country, who is the ICO project owner, and then look up the profile on Linkedin to confirm. Or you can also find out about ICO / Token on Reddit or social media of experts in that field to verify the credibility of the ICO project.
-
If there is no recent update information about the project in social media. Token not to share Although ICO is completed, although it is shared just a formality to some people. There is no information about when the listing in the market. It could be an indication of a token will be a scam.
-
You can just look out for the important things in the project, things like the whitepaper and the roadmap are very important when it comes to the coin as that shows you what is going to happen with the coin. Then again you have to make sure that the team and creators are really the faces that they have been putting in front of the proeject.
-
Airdrop can review by visiting to their project and if you see the project are good the airdrop are good. But mostly the like bounty airdro is also have more scam and not worth it to join because they are not paying participants. Check every information to know the token if it's scam or not that reward to you.
-
Though the rate of scam is very high in airdrops and if you are not careful enough to do a very good research of the project, you might be a victim of scam but if you take your time to research, you will find this good and potential projects and get reward at the end of it.
-
We must be more careful in choosing tokens so we can avoid losses and not get a profit. Scam tokens do not have prices on the market and that makes many people lose.
-
It is not so easy to identify it. We have to always careful otherwise harm inevitable.
-
In my opinion, to identify a scam coin is to ask the project owner to be able to provide documents or third party profiles if the person cannot provide them. I think this is one way we can identify coins as scams or not.

3 Ways to Identify an ICO Scam
1. The Developers Are Anonymous
The first and most blatant sign of an ICO scam is that the token’s developers are anonymous or otherwise-unknown. While it’s true that the creator of Bitcoin — a pseudonymous individual or group operating under the name Satoshi Nakamoto — did not reveal his true identity, he was able to this because he created a network that did not depend on the trustworthiness of a central authority. This is not the case with ICOs and TGEs. By holding an ICO, a startup is asking token buyers to trust that the developers will deliver a working product instead of running off with their money, so the team should be willing to back up its promises and claims with verifiable identities.
If a team is unwilling to identify itself, token buyers should be very cautious about contributing to the project. While there may be valid reasons to desire this privacy, it is far more likely that their purposes are nefarious. PlexCoin, for instance, declined to reveal the identities of its team members, obfuscating the fact that one of its organizers had run afoul of securities regulations in Quebec on several occasions, both before and during the PlexCoin ICO.
2. The Token Does Not Have a Clear Use Case
Another sign of an ICO scam is that the developers are unable to clearly articulate a valid use case for the token. The token should serve a key purpose in the startup’s platform. If it does not, the token will not sustain its value over the long-term. Related to this problem are tokens that advertise themselves merely as digital currencies without offering any real innovations or improvements upon existing cryptocurrency technology.
3. The Whitepaper Sets Unrealistic Goals
However, even if the token does have a clear use case, token buyers should be wary of startups that advertise overly-optimistic roadmaps. If the whitepaper sets an unrealistic development schedule, it either means the developers are using deceptive tactics to attract token buyers or they lack the necessary experience to give a sensible scope to the project. Either way, this does not bode well for the success of the project and its corresponding token.
To avoid falling prey to ICO scams, token buyers should educate themselves and conduct due diligence before deciding to contribute to a project. Strategic Coin offers numerous resources to assist token buyers with their research, including token analysis reports and exclusive interviews with startups conducting token generation events.
-
Your points may not give a complete proof that the faces presented at the white paper are authentic, anyone can actually present his or her faces but could remain a scam ICOs; except if these face are familiar faces known in crypto management or that parricipants know these faces one on one.
However, to identify genuine ICOs these days has been proven very difficult, but a good follow up of some these ICO through out all social media platforms and rating site will enhances in getting a good ICO. Also asking questions from experience colleagues on crypto ecosystems plus good knowledge from expat will greatly boost the chances of getting good ICOs

I totally agree with you.
We should make a good research before drop into it.
-
We can identify the scam token through proper research because many token are in the market, but to get the good one is very difficult base on this one need to be very careful in order not to fall a victim.
-
One thing you must do to identify a scam project is a good and deep down research, don't read the white paper only, because they maybe telling lies.
-
Well, looking at the team can describe most of the glitches at first. But there are more to see and understand to clarify if a project is a scam or not. You may look at the project's github page, the team, advisors, their team's linkedin profiles, and ICO metrics. These are the key points if you want to understand if a project is a scam or not.
-
It needs a complex research. You should study its whitepaper, social media, team profiles, and other important things related to the identity of the projects. Since scammers become smarter right now, we must be more careful to choose tokens to buy.
-
Yeah, the scam coins already have been here in crypto world since the first time. There are many scams, in fact.
To know whether it is scam or not is very difficult. However, we can avoid or minimize the risks by analyzing the projects before involvement. It can be done by analyzing whether their project is real and possible or not in the website and WP. Then, follow more their channels on telegram, twitter, Facebook, and other social media. Know their team members in fact.

We are not only responsible for claims, but also for distribution of the tokens.
We will do our best to let you know about the confirmed airdrop Tokens.

You can indentify the tokens are scam by learning the white paper and follow their bounty manager in social media. U think They will give clue.
-
The only way out is to be careful and make a deep research. Quite recently I came across one called NEROEX. This guys never gives up.
-
It requires propper research on particular token. Always be aware and don't get fooled by big names
-
By more and more investigation and research easily identified scam projects. By informing legal team management and whitepaper, website and announment should easily identify scams projects.
-
The first step is to visit its official website. Scam usually has badly-constructed website or even doesn't have a one. Visit the website and download its whitepaper. By reading its whitepaper, you can better understand the project. You need to carefully examine its tokenomy, team, technology and roadmap. check if its tokenomy is sustainable, if it provides the information of team members in details, what kind of technology it uses and is it possible to adopt and whether they follow their roadmap. Scammers usually could not provide a sustainable tokenomy. If the coin is difficult to circulate, how will it appreciate? I will add something when I think of something new.
-
It's not so easy to check if a token is a scam or not if scam is made well...usually I check team profile and ask them technical questions and, of course, also check whitepaper and roadmap development if I am an investor.

I think It is difficult, We should learn the white paper and road map. I usually check their team and the project.
-
It is also difficult to detect coins that are scam because they always make the project as closely as possible to the original, even though they intend to deceive investors with a fictitious project, and that makes crypto worse in the eyes of investors.

I usually learn whitepaper, road map and the project. I also follow the admin on social media. But I think It is difficult to detect scam tokens.
-
I can assure you that there is no uniform methods for calculating such projects. This need to feel and understand.
-

Yes, it is right way. Doing a deep research is very recommended to avoid scams now. Since scammer become smarter, I think it is quite difficult to determine scams. But analyzing and identifying their whitepaper, team profiles, all crucial thins on the projects are the best ways for this case.
-
To identify scams, we must do complex research because the current scam cases are harder to know. We cannot only analyze the whitepaper, we need to observe their data by googling and find out the real data and profiles of each team members.
-
Identification of scamming projects is very difficult. I always read the bitcointalk.org forum scaming post section and easily find out scamming projects.
-
There are some indication to identify the scam project but sometimes it does not guarantee. Need some careful analysis to collect data to prove the accusation. Some of which is team members! There are some project that been identified as scam due to dev members that are obviously coming from Google photo.
-
Nowadays maximum airdrops and bounty campaign are fake and scams... Bounty campaign is consist of fake team management and whitepaper, roadmap and website.
-
It seems very difficult to detect a scam token, but we can only predict tokens that scam by tracing from the supply token, we can see it from etherscan, and we see the developer behind the token whether the involved team is very competent or not in the token project
-
If you are trying to find some distinctive features inherent in all fraudulent projects, it is unrealistic, because of their absence.

I think You should learn the white paper, roadmap, project and the team. It is really difficult, because too many scams.
-
You understand that often scammers create projects of such perfect quality that you can not even imagine, sometimes real projects, in comparison with them, will seem fraudulent.
-
Well I'm not sure how is it possible to identify the scammers as they can be anywhere. For some time I've interested in investing crypto Exchanges like one of my first was Exscudo long time ago even though they are not in the coinmarket cap yet but they are still kicking, right now I'm aimed at DexAge.io they are building decentralized p2p ecosystem exchange and currently holding a token crowd-sale as well. I'm sure there are some companies that are good too but again it's your choice and your risk.
-
before you register make sure you check the website like roadmap, team, whitepaper. Is it true that the information on the website is in line with the project, if there are different, just be careful
-
but i preferd to research project team. because it is key of the project. if project have one fake team. maybe project will got trouble or scam.
-
In General to understand it is almost unreal. In the current realities, when you can copy any site and hire a person to write white paper, it is impossible.

I also consider purchasing DXG, I have read a white paper, but I still can not say exactly whether they will be successful or not.
Can someone advise something?
-
It is not easy to identify whether the project is legit or scam. they are very good at making the project look original and make investors believe. dominant I found scam projects always faking team profiles and WP. it's better to prioritize research before buying or joining.
-
Some times is very hard to identify a scam projects because the project appears promising with a lot of promises, these makes it difficult at times to discover weather is a legit or fake project unless those that don't have telegram account which is not accessible.

Yes, I tnink. too many scams now, Thinking before join. Learn their whitepaper and roadmap. Follow their team at social media
-
I identified by checking the total supply according to the whitepaper. a lot of airdrop now is fraud. I avoid airdrops like this. besides the whitepaper I saw the team's performance.
-
If we talk about Airdrop, then it seems to me that it’s generally very difficult to find a quality project that will not easily throw tokens, but also throw them on the stock exchange!
