What is so special about platform which is in my opinion jumping point for many fake initial coin offers?
It is not a currency. I would have understood value if ether was currency, but it is not.

Ethereum is so special because it is necessary need for new ICOs because Ethereum platform provides the best opportunity for new businesses through smart contract, In smart contract both parties will be safe from fraud because it is usually works for third party and make safe both parties and the Ethereum technology is the one of the best technology for blockchain and Ethereum has good demand in the market.

As we know that crypto start with bitcoin and bitcoin does not have the smart contract function that is able to let the ICO generate their own coins. As time goes by Ethereum comes along ethereum offer better technology and better features and most importantly it has this smart contract function to let ICOs generate their tokens. So from this Ethereum is more highly sought after either by the ICOs or people see the value in it.

What is so special about Ethereum?
1. Offer a smart contract feature and a lot of coin/token already using ETH as their platfom. So as long as the demand is still high, the chance of price going up is high too.
2. Active in development.
3. Great community
4. Its easy when we want to exchange and its the second rank coin in this crypto world and a lot of good stuff ^^

Ethereum is the second best cryptocurrency after Bitcoin. Majority of the ICOs in the space were launched on the Ethereum Network and ETH is the currency needed to these ICOs. On whether the ICOs are fake or real, this is hugely dependent on the individual projects and this has nothing to do with Ethereum.

Etherium is one of the SPECIAL coin here in crypto right now. Think of it. If Etherium will going to die all of the coin under it will really going to die too. It's like their mother bitcoin, Etherium is the foundation of some tokens and coins.

eth is special because many ico use the eth platform.

I think if it came out today it wouldn't be as special, but it definitely had the first mover advantage over other platforms. Most new tokens are still issued using the platform... we'll see if that continues in the next year.

The price is now much less ... But nevertheless, the platform on which the Etherium is based is quite promising and at the expense of contracts, gives a good development to many technologies, so the coin is still worth it!

For me, the special thing about Ethereum is the good market conditions and the trusted tokens. I think the price is still far from Bitcoin, but the potential is not inferior to Bitcoin and this is the favorite coin of many people in the Crypto world. Ethereum does have something that other coins don't have that make people interested. Not even a few Bitcoin users are moving to Ethereum to do business there.

in my opinion the price is always stable and there are many listings in all existing markets. how to use easily and a little fee to transact using ether.
now many altcoins are popping up using ether platforms.
so everything feels familiar and comfortable for me.
but at the end of the day ether experienced a drastic decline so I had to hold ether.

Probably because of smart contract. One of the best out there and I think that's what makes it special and I think the cheap and fast transaction. Even though the price is going up, the service it gives is satisfying and that's why I prefer using Ethereum rather than BTC.
