Title: Winklevoss Twins to Expand Gemini Crypto Exchange to the UK Market

Despite the current market struggle, the Winklevoss twins are looking to expand their New York-based Gemini cryptocurrency exchange across the Atlantic to the UK.

The Gemini Trust Company has hired advisers to consult on a potential move to the UK and is close to filing an application with the UK markets watchdog for regulatory approval, it was today reported by the Financial Times, citing unnamed sources.

Back in the US, the New York attorney general published a report indicating that there is a level of market manipulation associated with some of the larger crypto exchanges.

Bitcoin, as well as many other major cryptocurrencies, have struggled throughout 2018, but price falls of 60% have failed to dampen the Winklevoss twins bullish outlook on bitcoin and the crypto sector.

South Korea’s Bithumb may also be eyeing the UK as a base of operations to serve the European markets. The UK is currently one of the more crypto friendly nations in the region despite a number of warnings from the country’s central bank.
