I think that before crypto will go mainstream some problems have to be solved:
1) hacking of exchanges/wallets. Security has to be improved.
2) usage is ofter too difficult for some coins (think about creating a wallet in EOS, it's not so easy and requires a good knowledge of crypto).

Year has nothing to do or can share on cryptocurrency because it is always dependent on the community but the hands of the secret works of whale are the one that only determine the subject.
