As we notice that almost all the altcoins follow the price of bitcoin . I'm just wondering when they will become independent and don't follow the bitcoin price?

altcoin won't be able to run from btc, because btc is currently the mother of cryptocurrency, so the price of the altcoin will continue to follow bitcoin,

I think altcoin can't be independent bitcoin is the center off all coin/token in cryptocurrency they depend the price of bitcoin so altcoin must follow next to bitcoin.

I do not think so, Bitcoin is just the beginning of blockchain technology, which will later have more coin with better technology that deserves more investment and will replace Bitcoin, which can not be changed.

all exchanges use BTC as main currency, even ETH doesnt have that much markets in this markets or USDT (ot TUSD) if this logic changes, altcoins can be independent otherwise there willbe some movement independent from BTC but it wont mean they gained their independency...

I think It is difficult, altcoins cannt stop following bitcoin price. Because Bitcoin is the King if crypto currency.

Bitcoin dominance did start to drop as the overall market was rising, but with the current bear market, it has only increased again. I think it will maintain it's position as a clear market leader for some time yet, but would like to see it dropping below 25%, that would be a sure sign of the market maturing. While one coin has such influence, it's difficult for even the best projects to break free from it's grasp. Hopefully over the next year it will make tentative progress towards that anyway.

There is a possibility for altcoins to stop following the bitcoin price but it is not in the near future. Altcoins must strengthen its influence and values to separate from bitcoin. I think it will give impacts for crypto market if altcoins can stop to follow bitcoin.

I think altcoin won't be able to leave bitcoin because bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrency. so the price of the altcoin will continue to follow bitcoin. if altcoin stops following the price of bitcoin. it will not be possible in the near future because the altcoin must strengthen its influence to separate from bitcoin. if altcoin can stop from bitcoin then it will have an impact on the crypto market

In my opinion, the value of altcoins will still depend on the value of bitcoin. This trust in large enough bitcoin will lead to the value of altcoins. If confidence in bitcoin decreases, then confidence in the altcoin will also decrease. That's why altcoins cannot yet become independent.

When that happens. It will definitely benefit Altcoin. But I don't know when Bitcoin can release Altcoin and make altcoin stand alone. What is clear is long enough and will be difficult for Altcoin to be able to be independent as long as Bitcoin is still alive and active in the Crypto World.

I don't think it will happen because however the bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies, the other altcoins are just copy cat of bitcoin. Usually bitcoin always be the winner in the price all of cryptocurrencies always follow the leader of bitcoin.

@chapcha, agree with you. Altcoin cannot escape the value of bitcoin because bitcoin is the first crypto currency to be created. Bitcoin has quite a lot of communities, that's why bitcoin will always have price effects for altcoins.

There are several altcoins on the market that don't really follow the price of bitcoin at all but most alts prices will always flow with the same flow as BTC. Currently there is one of the Altcoin that is already on its way to becoming independent, namely the Ripple coin. Maybe in the future there will be many more coins that want to be independent like a Ripple coin

In my view, bitcoin and altcoins will always be connected and no chance for altcoins to become independent. The only reason that altcoins can stop following bitcoin is when bitcoin disappears. Personally, I guess it is almost impossible to happen. We know that bitcoin is like the king of crypto coins, it is inseparable..

That happens if the dominant holder is in the altcoin. currently bitcoin is very influential on the market because bitcoin is more trusted and widely available on exchanges.

BITCOIN is the main crypto and has a high dominance for this market more than 50% so price of every altcoins is unfluenced by its movements in most cases

when altcoins have been adopted by all parties (country), all exchange in the world uses altcoins as a pair not using bitcoin as a pair and pair directly with fiat, used as a real payment tool (can be used to buy goods, services, or anything else in real life)...cause bitcoin like this right now...all parties use bitcoin as pair, directly pair with fiat (not only usd), a real payment tool...

The price of any altcoin depends on market sentiment. market sentiment is mainly shaped by bitcoin. and where does bitcoin go there and the altcoin market. low-cap altcoins do not react so actively to bitcoin movements, they live their own lives

I think if the altcoin stopped to follow bitcoin it would be a very good thing because it would not be a burden or influence on the altcoin price, and that would be an opportunity for the altcoin to continue to grow and the price would be better in the future.

Untik bitcoin will become under the power of government system but I doubt that there will be a large of altcoins will be seen in the market after that.
