Before you investing in one coins you must do or make a thourough research of the project. There are things you to consider if the project are worth to invest and can hodl for a long term. Always check the whitepaper, the concept of the project, the roadmap, and the team if they are legit.
If you can see the project is great it will motivate you to invest and hodl. Ofcourse there is a possibility that the coons will grow and the value wil increase.

This happens all the time. I sold bitcoin high, around 19000, because I needed the money. Sometimes it is good to sell, to get a profit. I think partial trades are better. Sell a part of your investment. If it goes higher, you sell the rest, for more profit, if lower, buy the same amount of coins and keep the profit.

what motivates me to HODL includes; The project in question, if I see that the project has great potentials and I see a great future in it, I will hodl the coin. The vision and perspective I have about the project also counts and also when I invest on a coin, most especially those ICo's that after listing on an exchange, the price becomes way lower than the ICO price.... That I Dont have a choice than to HODL till the price stabilises so as not to encounter losses at the end of the day. The last one is my experience to coins I sold way early that price became so high, I regretted selling, till date I still regret selling some tokens I should have held. Its a lesson though.

I do, but, very rarely, except when trading... I mean you can also see people around you or on telegram/etc... You should keep a God worthy emotional distance from money. What can I say, I don't give a flick, like gold and paper money, everything is just an imaginary shitty value, that we come up with like most of the things and usually nothing means except maybe in the moment of trading. And as far as I know I still cannot eat gold and paper and be satisfied in my belly... But what I found in life is also more valuable than all of your bitcoins and whole crypto world combined. So I can only say this, seek that in your life, and you will find what you are looking for in this world your whole life..

In some other reason you are correct. But things has change now its been 10 years already since the introduction of first crypto-currency no other than Bitcoin, for me hodling coins in longer time is not good because of the changing situation on the crypto-sphere!

The history of bullrun on 2016 and 2017 is my first motivation to hold till now. But if I cannot get the bullrun, it is no problem for me. At least I can find high increase later on. I plan my assets for short and long term, so sometimes I can sell my coins/assets although it is not bull time.

Yes, I also prefer to hold and in no hurry to sell, holding will be able to provide better profits because the market will be able to recover its value, and even though it takes longer then I will be patient.

My motivation to hold my token is purely on price. Can't sell my holding because it's 80% loss, how can I accept those losses, so I am waiting for the price to show up again. I'm waiting even if takes for years. I love trading but I will be losing so I kept them all to my wallet.
