Honestly, I don't know the fix information about this topic. Cause many people debating about NameCoin and Litecoin as first altcoin.
NameCoin created before Litecoin.
But there is also create debate.
Cause why? The main goal of NameCoin to development decentralization in domain name registration, which will make the process state. So they claim that NameCoin is not altcoin.
But if I'm using Wikipedia as reference, I can see that the position of Litecoin before Namecoin. You can check this:

Wow thanks, but litecoin price didn't grow too much even though it is the first altcoin created :(
plus litecoin was created Oct 7 2011 based from wikipedia contributors
