Red flags usually raise when I'm dealing with certain nations. Which nations do you feel a majority of scammers are coming from?
-
I don't think it's a good idea to ask such question. If someone named one country to answer you and the answer is my country, I think I will be offended even if it's a fact.
-
I cannot say specifically where the majority of fraudsters come from. But I have an instinct about 1 country. But that doesn't matter, we just have to be careful to minimize losses.
-
Disclaimer: I do not want to offend anyone !!!
I myself am from Russia. I live here for more than 10 years. I find it hard to call it, but I often come across fraudulent projects from the Union of New States with Russian developers. I would call it a coincidence, but see for yourself. In the end, most projects do not collect the required amount. Many of them turn out to be fraudsters.
Do not forget that Ethereum and Waves were created by people from Russia. There the team was Russian.

It is a hard question my friend. Everybody will be difficult to answer it since the right way to answer the question is with certain valid data. I also have the same bad story with you, a team project from certain nations has a big possibility to be suspected as scammers. But I cannot state that because I have no data to explain it. Saying the nations will harm me and just spread the issue if it turns to wrong opinion.
-
The best people to answer this type of question are the project founders themselves or the bounty/airdrop management team. I read somewhere that many airdrop scammers are coming from Vietnam
-
To me most scammers comes from India
-
It is difficult to answer this question, because there is no statistics. Personally, I myself came across scammers when I participated in the bounty campaign. And there have always been different countries.
-
Scammers are came from different countries so it's hard to say where they came from, all we need to do is to be vigilant always and research properly before investing in a project.
-
I do not think that the number of fraudsters is connected with some particular people, because all nations do this ...
-
I don’t think it’s right to generalise this and say a country. Scammers can be from all around the world. Their country wouldn’t matter. It’s their personal problem and if we say a country name then some people may be prejudist against people from that country.
-
In my own point of view those scams are from developed countries especially Asian countries. I don't need to call them. They know themselves
-
maybe we just know enough and don't mention the origin of the country what if someone from that country is confused we only know enough and it's good to keep the feelings of others

I does not think most of the scammers come from which country, as i believe anyone can choose to be good or be bad which is their choice. I guess more tech savy country have a higher percentage of being scammer.
-
It is impossible to say for sure, because in all countries a great many scam projects are being carried out, but as I noted companies from Japan and Korea, for example, are doing better in ICO than others, well, this is by my experience.
-
It's almost impossible to say.. I saw many scams and they came from all countries including USA and Switzerland.
One of best thing to check is team profile in linkedin to see if they are real or fake and if they are impersonating someone else.
-
I have experienced many scammers from different countries in the world. The experience of getting scam may be different per person. If you ask me to tell the countries, my answer: the majority scam ICOs come from India, Russia, and China.
-
We will need a lot of data from various ICO, airdrop, and bounty campaigns before we can come up with a list where majority of scammers come from
-
it is impossible to mention for sure, due to the fact in all international locations a exceptional many rip-off tasks are being achieved, but as I from Japan and Korea, for are doing higher in ICO than others, properly, this is with the aid of my experience.

Yes, I agree. I see some answers above based on the personal experience only. We need a research or observation from some people to determine the percentage of majority scammers come from. I suggest to have another thread to discuss about the research or observation.

I'm sorry mate. I can't give any answer. I don't want to offend anyone.
As I know, there was lots of fraudulent icos. The scammers are from various region I guess.
And now, some of them (Some Scammers) are repeating to make fraudulent icos. Maybe the suspect remains the same, the previous scammers.
-
We can't generalize and say a country. You cannot even know where a scammer is from. They might be changing their IPs, their location names, etc.
Also it is unfair to say poor countries scam more. It depends on people. Every country have a good percentage of douchebags.
-
I dont want to say bad things about our brothers who from other countries but at least i can say that i really trust chinese people in that space.
Really i feel amazing while i am looking chinese icos with great chinese team members ..
-
in my statistics, the largest number of mashennikov is from Russia, people do not think about the project, they just want to raise money and that's all
-
actually, we cannot predict which country that has the most of scammers. we know that here is anonymous, we cannot ascertain where someone came from.
-
In my very own point of view those scam are from developed countries specially Asian countries. I don't need to name them.
