Title: Those who lost their coins
Post by: zorchy on October 13, 2018, 01:16:21 PM
The topic is self-moderated to prevent spamming. Thanks for taking it easy.

This topic is for those who lost money in coins. I found this picture on LinkedIn and thought to post it here so that investors know that there are risk involved in any kind of investments. The media will try to give you this idea that investing in crypto is the riskiest investment but the truth is in any industry you can have bear market. Patience is the key!

This is totally possible, as was Amazon going from $5.50 to $2,000. So if you did get in at the peak of the dotcom bubble at $75, you'd be sitting on 26x profits 18 years later ;) Of course it'd be nice to have that 300x from the lows of 2001, which is why it's worth sticking with crypto and wait that for that tasty final dip.

As for the amount of dotcom businesses (IPOs) that went bankrupt, I wouldn't be surprised for this to happen to 90% of the ICOs raised in the last year, but I expect many altcoins will survive. in the 2013 "bubble pop" top altcoins lost up to 99% before reaching in all time highs only 5 years later.

Nice comparison table. No matter what you invest there is always winner and loser there is always a taker and a giver the main point is you must know what you are doing and not based on the types of risk that is involve. If you go into something unfamiliar even that instrument only carry 10% risk you will increase the risk percentage to 50% or more since you have no knowledge of it at all.
