Title: will decentralised exchanges be the future ?
Post by: Crypto on October 13, 2018, 06:00:32 PM
Have been searching for decentralised exchanges to trade on for security reasons after watching Andreas M. Antonopoulos -
.
So far the Bitshares DEX has been the most liquid and what seems as truly p2p but other Ethereum based dexs are potentially good also. Will DEXs really be the future ? Or will centralised exchanges slowly become decentralised.

It will be great to see this happen. The centralized exchanges are danger to the existence of Cryptocurrency. They can be hacked, shut down and the coins can be stolen/seized by criminal or governments. Centralized exchanges are totally against what true cryptocurreny represents. They have no option than to decentralized

Hopefully they account for majority of the trades in the future.

In the future, DEX will take over centralized exchanges but I am not sure that DEX will be fully decentralized. There are likely to be protocols that make DEX exchanges not transparent. So that DEX is easily released from responsibility, the reason is that all transactions are fully held by the member.

of course, we need decentralized exchanges for decentralized money. Otherwise we will hear more of exchange hacks etc.

if I am not mistaken DEX does have many shortcomings, just like CEX, and for that, the DAEX project emerged, and the daex project in general was to perfect the cex and dex to be more powerful, and probably would be decentralized.
