Title: Does bitcoin control the market?
Post by: kemalramdanu on October 14, 2018, 05:21:51 AM
Most people believe that the price of altcoins' is determined by the price of bitcoin and that they tend to follow it's market movements.

I partially disagree with this. I have studied prices of coins and tokens on CMC and the fluctuations of each currency seems to be unique and independent of any other digital currency. Some show strong pumps when BTC goes down and some heavy dumps when BTC is rising.

Undoubtedly, there are market forces and factors which affects most currencies, this is not influenced by bitcoins price, it rather controls bitcoins' price as well as others.
So when trading or investing, make sure you treat each currency differently as they have different utilities.

I think that controlling the price movements of all crypto currency including bitcoin depends on the presence of buyers and sellers,if it doesn't exist it seems like it will be very difficult to control the price of bitcoin.

Only some days ago i see when BTC price was gone high, ETH price gone low. So actually we can not clearly say in what matters market depends!!

Most likely, this trend will be observed for a long time until serious changes occur in the crypto market.

it looks like bitcoin is controlling the coin price movement of cryptocurrency in place of exchange, so there are so many coins that have prices depending on the price movements of bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot control the price of cryptocurrencies but due to normal pattern about the basis of all, everybody does not have any choice but to follow the trend. It is bitcoin who can start the trend of market but not the one who controls.

This Bitcoin martket control of other crypto prices is true. We have seen it happen on numerous times, though Bitcoin has its own used cases that is deffernt from most coins, but it is very obvious, and even a layman can observe the trend at the coinmarketcap that Bitcoin up and down price movements has great effects on the prices of most coins.
If by tomorrow Bitcoin pump up, definitely most coins will also follow. Let take take a critical look at this trends to get a good analysis. Thank you all.

Bitcoin does not control the market completely but have an influence on the market. Because most coins are paired to Bitcoin and serve as a standard of measure for most of the coins on the market, BTC always have an impact on the market whenever it goes up or down. Secondly, it has got the largest market cap which means it has the largest crypto investor base, hence BTC investors have great influence on the entire market.

Bitcoin price dominates other types of cryptocurrency. This is clearly seen in the example of the past in 2018, when from the beginning of the year Bitcoin began to lose its price from $ 20,000, until it dropped to almost $ 6,000. At the same time, almost the entire cryptocurrency also synchronously fell in price along with Bitcoin. It is believed that such an opportunity appeared in Bitcoin due to its high level of capitalization.

Yes I think It is true. Bitcoin controll the market, because I see the bitcoin price will affect the value of all altcoins. Because bitcoin is still the King of crypto currency.

Bitcoin has a price dominance over other types of cryptocurrency due to its high level of capitalization. Still, the other types of cryptocurrencies generally repeat bitcoin price movements and this is clearly seen in the CoinMarketCap table. Sometimes a rise or fall in the price of Bitcoin does not immediately affect the price of a certain coin or token, however this happens very rarely due to the characteristics of the development of such cryptocurrency.
I hope that over time the market will become more mature and free from the price dominance of Bitcoin.

Actually, I don't know how it works exactly. But, unfortunately, I think yes. We can see how the influence of Bitcoin for the market. Every time this coin drops, it always influences the price of altcoins. This is because the bitcoin is used as the main transaction method for payment the other coins or tokens. Additionally, the people will put their trust highly on BTC, so when it drops, they will also reduce the trust on the other coins.

Periodic manipulations with the price of bitcoin on the cryptocurrency market are still quite possible. A group of holders of large wallets with bitcoins, quite in collusion, may influence the price of bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market. However, hardly anyone can fully control the market. To do this, you need to throw out a large number of bitcoins on the market, and then buy them. This will be contrary to the task of making a profit, such control is likely to cause losses, since the cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable.

No one controls the crypto price, I have seen the crypto market for 1 year and crypto investors have a considerable impact on the coins they want to buy. If the price of BTC rises then the price of other coins will rise. I don't think it is like that.
because the type of altcoin and BTC exchange causes price differences and investors will follow the BTC price because BTC is the first coin in crypto exchange.

You make a good point, on the surface it seems that Bitcoin does control the market ...but bigger factors are at play behind the scenes that affect all cryptos.  However, you can get a good gauge on the crypto market in general by first checking Bitcoin due to the fact that it dominates the total market capitalization... and with most of the total activity in Bitcoin, it's no wonder that its value is affected first.

I think that controlling the price movements of all crypto currency including bitcoin depends on the presence of buyers and sellers,if it doesn't exist it seems like it will be very difficult to control the price of bitcoin.
Nobody owns the Bitcoin network much like no one owns the technology behind email. Bitcoin is controlled by all Bitcoin users around the world. While developers are improving the software, they can't force a change in the Bitcoin protocol because all users are free to choose what software and version they use. In order to stay compatible with each other, all users need to use software complying with the same rules. Bitcoin can only work correctly with a complete consensus among all users. Therefore, all users and developers have a strong incentive to protect this consensus.

So far this is really a difficult question: does Bitcoin fall along with others, like an ordinary cryptocurrency, or does Bitcoin first fall, and then its fall causes the fall of all other types of cryptocurrencies. How to check if outwardly everything looks the same? Most likely, we can find out only when Bitcoin loses its high capitalization, which, as is commonly believed, gives it dominance in price.
If there is a price dominance of bitcoin, then it will come about anyway, since such dominance restrains the normal development of the market.

Yes, it is how the Bitcoin influences other crypto coins. Bitcoin value is indeed the factor to determine altcoins prices whether to increase or to drop. But I think it doesn't apply to stable coins such as USDT. That coin follows the price or rate of USD. So, Bitcoin may just influence it very little.

In general, this is true. Due to the high level of capitalization, bitcoin dictates the direction of price movement for the rest of the cryptocurrencies. Some altcoins may not keep up with the price movement of bitcoin, some, for various reasons, may even act contrary to the price movement of bitcoin for a certain time, but in general, bitcoin still dominates the price ratio in the cryptocurrency market.
I don't think this will always be the case. The time will come when Bitcoin's price dominance will disappear after its market capitalization drops to the level of capitalization of other altcoins.

I think that controlling the market is not bitcoin but depends on the balance of supply and demand according to market laws. for the price we have to admit that it can beat bitcoin but in trading it is not the price side that makes the token survive but is the number of trades that can make the token be rewarded and survive. bitcoin is the one that rules the trading market and not yfi, so there won't be any changes but bitcoin is the target. yfi is not traded too much and many doubt its value, the price will automatically fall back because the market does not respond well.

Bitcoin is the king of all coins over the years and there is no competitor of Bitcoin yet who can be a threat of it. A coin that holds more than 60% of market capital alone where more than 7000 coins only hold less than 40% capital is the has power to control all the crypto markets. If bitcoin markets becomes unstable, altcoins maket will become unstable. So in single words, Bitcoin is the controller of the crypto market.

I don't think bitcoin will control the  market, because I think demand and supply will control the market, Bitcoin just another factor. I have seen bitcoin increase and pumping, but altcoins are still struggling. When bitcoin decrease, Altcoins stagnant.

I know some traders observe that if BTC goes upward some alts would also go upward but if it goes down mostly all alts decreases it's value in the marketpalce

If it is then why not altcoin increase. I see that bitcoin is increasing rapidly where altcoins have no change. They are in the same position. Nothing is change some altcoins get down.

Altcoins cannot increase because of the very fast movement of bitcoins, try to see the past few months, bitcoin can go down and increase again even more than before it fell in just a matter of days, altcoins seem to be confused with the way bitcoin is today. they can not adjust to the movement, but I believe from the experience that continues to happen altcoins can certainly anticipate the next time.

Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone in the world. The currency is controlled by people all over the world. Bitcoin is very popular all over the world. Bitcoin plays a much bigger role in the economic sector and other sectors. Bitcoin plays a role in keeping the economies of most developed countries afloat. Bitcoin helps keep the wheel of the economy of different countries moving. So digital currencies like Bitcoin are much more popular all over the world.

What market, crypto market? If you mean crypto market, then it is true. Bitcoin is the king of crypto coins, it affects very significantly in cryptocurrency. If Bitcoin has a bad season, most altcoins have a bad season as well. It is normal because Bitcoin is the main pair of almost all crypto coins. When it changes, it impacts others.

Crypto without bitcoin is certainly very influential because everything means that bitcoin is the king of crypto and the influence that is made greatly affects all movements that occur in crypto, but it's not that altcoin is also not good, like ethereum is also very much sought after and determines the growth of new tokens.

Bitcoin should be in stable rising momentum before the effect to altcoins as long as the pump is unstable altcoins remains in dump. Remember the day back on 2017 all altcoins increased because of bitcoin.

the increase in bitcoin was not what he usually did so it was only natural that the altcoins could not anticipate the move. It's been a few months bitcoin has gone down and up on a daily basis, even after going down there is an increase. so altcoins are unable to keep up with the bitcoin rhythm. but with several occurrences it is certain that the altcoin will anticipate and will also move up when bitcoin rises again.

Yes Bitcoin can control the market the crypto market is bitcoin king and tops all currencies the worth of other currencies fluctuates counting on bitcoin the rationale it's becoming more popular is that bitcoin is that the first of the decentralized digital currencies because it's the primary to work without a financial institution or one administrator. Bitcoin price dominates other types of cryptocurrency. This is clearly seen in the example of the past in 2018, when from the beginning of the year Bitcoin began to lose its price from $ 20,000, until it dropped to almost $ 5,000. At the same time, almost the entire cryptocurrency also synchronously fell in price along with Bitcoin. It is believed that such an opportunity appeared in Bitcoin due to its high level of capitalization.

Still now it is impossible for Bitcoin to dominate global currencies like USD, EURO etc. Bitcoin is only dominant position in cryptocurrency market with more than 65% dominance over all altcoins according to the current data of CMC. If Bitcoin will be accepted by all countries, global and local currencies will remain their position. We can compare Bitcoin with only virtual currencies.

For now majority of the people willl look at bitcoin to determine the fate of other altcoins but in the future this might not be the case.

Bitcoin has been used in illegal transactions, the large amount of electricity used by miners, price volatility, and thefts from exchanges. Some economists, including several Nobel laureates, have characterized it as a speculative bubble. Bitcoin has also been used as an investment, although several regulatory agencies have issued investor alerts about bitcoin
Bitcoin is traded on multiple exchanges all of which set their own average prices based on the trades being made by the exchanges at a given time.
If you want to buy and sell Bitcoin, you have to choose a particular exchange, which will have its average price. The price of Bitcoin fluctuates at any given moment, depending on which exchange the information comes from.
The Bitcoin market is influenced by many events. In some cases, the price can be driven down by large traders who sell bitcoins off in high volume.

With memories like these I make sure to create a new trading aroma and this is the right step to enter the Bitcoin market by us as small traders.

Don't get away from Bullish because after Bullish there is definitely Bearish.

As the number one cryptocurrency, Bitcoin naturally controls the market, since it has the largest capitalization. Also, the price of it is controlled by bitcoin whales who own large quantities of these tokens and can significantly affect the state of the price. Well, the state of bitcoin is most often followed by all altcoins. like behind a lighthouse, where he points his light there, and all unfold.

For me, Bitcoin controls the market because if you try to look at the charts, the flow of the market in altcoins tend to follow Bitcoins movement. What I mean here is that some coins has delayed reaction due to the domino effect of prices wherein newer tokens and coins depends on the price of Ethereum or whatever coins they are paired and the Ethereum and paired coins are dependent to Bitcoins that is how it works for me.

Certainly, bitcoin impact is there on all altcoins to some extent if bitcoin does not perform we can not expect much from altcoins too but I am not saying the altcoins are fully influenced by bitcoin price. Currently, Bitcoin dominance is quite high and the majority of the traders/investors trust Btc as compare to altcoins so Bitcoin plays a major role in altcoins value because if Btc has value then Altcoins will have value.

I also believe it a little bit, When bitcoin pumping,  some currency start pumping. When bitcoin dumping, some currency start dumping. So, We can say sometime, Bitcoin control the crypto-currencies market.

Yes, one can agree with these reflections. Bitcoin only has a price impact on altcoins due to its high level of capitalization. However, he cannot control the market. Control includes the ability to take action if the market is not on the right track. Bitcoin does not have any additional mechanisms to influence the cryptocurrency market.

For me its not easy the market can controlled  the bitcoin because as far as I know the market is only the place where the stock exchanges in the cryptocurrency will occur to display and that is the reason why is the market cannot controlled the bitcoin.

Bitcoin will never be able to control the market. Because the price of Bitcoin is the most up-and-down of what kind of market always fluctuates. The price of Bitcoin will exceed 60K dollars by 2021.  And the price of Bitcoin will increase further in the future.

I think the right statement is bitcoin is not controlling the market but bitcoin affects the market with prices. wherever the market is available it is an exchange that can be done with bitcoin, so I think bitcoin continues to influence the market.

Hi buddy..I am having a little trouble understanding your long sentence. But in some parts I agree. Namely bitcoin as the king of cryptocurrency (at least for now). And your prediction of a price hitting $ 50K in 2021 ...

I think Bitcoin really is able to control the market right now. We will see if Bitcoin skyrocketed it will definitely be followed by altcoins and vice versa. Indeed Bitcoin sets the price standard.

I think Bitcoin controls the cryptomarket. We know that as the price of Bitcoin rises, so do the prices of all cryptocurrency currencies. When the price of Bitcoin goes down, the price of all currencies starts to go down. So it can be said that Bitcoin controls the crypto market. This is why Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies.

On the contrary, I noticed when the price of Bitcoin rises, then the prices of altcoins rise. And that's a fact. Why then, when there is a bull run, it happens both for Bitcoin and for altcoins.

Now the amount of coins that are being pumped into the cryptocurrency market is unthinkable.  Because the price of such a token has never increased in such a way before.  Currently, the most expensive increase is due to the huge increase in the price of Bitcoin.

Currently, the price of Bitcoin has increased a lot. Which has gone out of control. The price of Bitcoin has risen so much in the cryptocurrency market that everyone is surprised to see. Controlling the price of Bitcoin is not an easy task as the price of Bitcoin is rising rapidly. Bitcoin will become more popular in the future if it continues as it is.
