Karma is a kind of system where qualified and helpful users are given a reward. It is needed in a form appreciation and thanks to what a the users had talked about in a good sense. Seniors and other high ranks have to opportunity to give karma while lower rankings such as newbie and juniors are prohibited. Getting karma is a type of encouragement for users in order to post quality text in the forum, however, some might not appreciate your work. Well, 1 karma is a good start for anyone and it is not new for those legendary and hero members might as well as seniors. So be patient, karmas are just getting out of hand.

Overqualified is too much, qualified is enough ;D
It appears that karma does not affect the ranking system so a neutral account is still good. As long as we make a decent comment consistently, that will be fine.

I hope karma in ALTT is not like Merit in BCT. It should be easier, Just give it like a thank and for good post only (no copy, no plagiarism), dont need overqualified it will be like merit suck system.

If we reached to be a big community I think karma requirements will be applied, like the merit system of bitcointalk to prevent spammers and malicious users

i also think that altcoinstalks forum should not follow the Btt system of ranking because it does not encourage guys over there, instead, in my opinion. the number of post should be higher to rank up than using merit system.

What do you mean by overqualified ? Can you please explain ? Karma is for helpful and informative post. If you are helped by anyone's post you can give them karma. May be the information are already known by other but you saw it first time and its helps you then you can give his karma. The post doesn't need to be overqualified for that.

Indeed, getting karma is very important. I think it makes no difference with the form of appreciating the forum operator for our posts. Because karma shows that our posts are good or not, quality or not, help others know or not and can be useful for many people or not. On the other hand karma will also warn us if we make a mistake in making posts while active in this forum.

That's right @cold_zero. I think the moderator must consider not to tighten the rules like BTT. I am sure, more and more people will join this forum if the rules are not too strict.

In my opinion, the number of posts must be higher than using the merit system. I also think that the altcoinstalks forum should not follow the Btt ranking system because it doesn't encourage people there.

We do not even have a merit system here. What we have is a karma system. Please read more on that.

The ranking system is different at the moment. I read that there will be changes soon so let us just wait for that
