Few days ago I created a topic called Thread Starters (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=62047.0) where I notice that some members seems to be flooding various boards to increase post count. Then I found out that a lot of these topics were only copied from forum X. I understand that we need to have new topics to keep the forum and its members active but isn't it time for each member to step up? There are over 30,000 members here and that number means we have enough members that can create topic/s without having to copy from other forum/s.
Phase 2 development already started as announced here (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=42078.0), so I think it is about time that we take this forum more seriously.

> How? Do not copy /paste other posts ! No plagiarism!
> No ideas? You can find interesting questions/ posts on facebook, reddit, quora and even bitcointalk
> Do NOT copy/paste , you can be inspired of these posts and rewrite them in your own words.
>> Change title
>> Rephrase the content
>> Give credit if possible /person name- username //not site.
>> translate the posts to your language / if english is not your mother tongue

Yeah, I know what you feel about them. I also don't understand how they do that, since I think it is not difficult to create own topics. I did the same with you, I analyzed many topics on my local board and on Altcoins & Cryptocurrencies discussions. Then, I found some topics are 100% plagiarism after I checked X forum, and I compared the topics.

Finally. I've been waiting for a thread like this. Hopefully this will prevent users from such practice as early as now.

Yes, Admin made a great decision. By having the thread, It can be easier to control the cases of plagiarism.

Haha,now this will be just like at that other forum.There is more forum police work from legendary members then some constructive postings.At least i hope that our admins will do the right thing and first warn those people and perma ban them if they repeatly doing plagiarism/copy/paste

A negative karma is already a warning to all plagiarist. Luckily for them, there are more ways to remove negative karma.

This is the link i was looking for. I reported so of the post by personal message to admin which isn't the appropriate way. This will help me to report more at proper way.

I see that few of you already reported plagiarism in the special in decentralized section.
Admin ask to not remove this posts.
I am wondering what happens further with this plagiarized content and author? Is deleted, moved to trash quarantine or maybe somebody contact all this members to give a chance to add links or quotes?
Anybody knows?

Maybe they will remain for first time readers to share their views. The authors will be probably receive a warning message on their inbox and all karma given to their copied post/s will be reversed. I have no idea though what will happen to their rankings.

There must be some punishing action anyway.But i also like to give people some kind of second chance.But if they don´t use it as a chance and still abuse it making same failure again,then some rigorous punishing must happen.
If not ,we can forget to get even close to BTT

Giving a negative karma, instead of a ban, is already sending a notice to them that they still have the chance to improve or change.

Unfortunately many people tend to ignore this very instruction, even without being told, it shouldn't be done, plagiarism is very bad and unhealthy for any forum because it would only make the forum seem like a thrash can, when I want to post a post in several forums, even if I am the original author, I tend to change words when I am reposting that my original post.

Yes we can do better by being serious/creative members and not copying other people's post and posting same as ours.

Yes of course dude. Rules in any community surely related with its member character. Adjusted it and hope forum in good situation :)
And I hope all members in this forum honor all rules. I think if they follow all rules there is no additional rules :)

I think there are still rooms for improvement by membets, and there is needs to encouragement every member in this forum. I think we do better as the forum progress in the future.

We can do a lot better. We just need to abide by the forum rules, suggest way forward for the forum, create engaging and informative post and share our comments so others can learn.
