Title: Are IEOs the new ICO?
Post by: lennart on October 29, 2018, 11:13:33 AM
Are initial exchange offerings going to replace ICOs for serious crypto projects? This article explains what initial exchange offerings are, and how they could potentially replace ICOs, as the ICO market is dying. What do you guys think? Can IEOs replace ICOs in the future?

The ICO market is far from dying; it is still in its prime.  Most likely, we are not properly looking at the situation, because it is logical that projects will collect less funds for development when the market is at the bottom and that is why so little ICO is launched.

I have seen some projects doing this already and it could be the new trend. I don't get the changing of the name though just to say it is "different", it is still basically an ICO. Only difference is, you buy on exchanges rather than from the company. If this method can make a way to bypass KYC, then I think many more blockchain based crowdfunding projects will use it.

I agree, as the token sale process is quite same. It only provides the coins on exchanges while token sale is ongoing. I assume it is still called ICO, but has new strategy by listing on exchanges on the early phase of ICO.
