How do you know if a ICO is a scam?

I'd really like to get this list more complete since I feel like this could be a real good thread

https://icobench.com/ico/clearcoin - threatening legal action for low scores to people on linkedin?  pretty scummy if you ask me, avoid this one.

In my opinion, the most obvious example of a scam or even a phishing website like ICO Token TON (Telegram Open Network) is a sales issue everywhere, but when we complain directly to Boss Telegram, they have never opened a Token sale at all.

I can not guess whether the ICO is a Scam but I can avoid looking at the project by reading WP and seeing the excellent products and team working on the project.

Plenty of ways to check a project out. Main ways would be transparency on the team and project. ICO funds held in escrow is ideal, but not many projects offer this unfortunately. Generally if something looks professional, well laid out and they have are communicative with their community, it is a good sign. It can all be a big smoke screen though, and then you still have to hope that the genuine projects perform once they hit the exchanges.
