Its really impossible for the ethereum to overtake bitcoin considering that bitcoin is very strong and with wide investment coverage and also among all crypto available in the market bitcoin holds the top 1 rank and with the highest market capitalization.

Ethereum is the second largest coin now on crypto but I think in order to overtake or reach what the bitcoin position now will going to take a years before it happen.

it takes a lot of effort to ETH beat bitcoin,
because bitcoin is one of the parent coins, it is very difficult for other coins to defeat bitcoin,
but that doesn't mean that btc can't be defeated, everything isn't possible in cryptocurrency.

I want to say in five years but the chances are very slim. The improvements from the development of a new ethereum platform still remains to be seen. We will have to see how ethereum 2.0 will be accepted by the crypto community.

No coin exist or will exist can talk BTC place, BTC is the backbone of the whole Cryptocurrency industry. We all know that BTC is not the most advanced technology currently between all Cryptocurrencies but BTC is number one not because its technology only when it comes to BTC things are just different. BTC is #1 and will remain #1 no matter what will happen or how good other coins become.

Well i believe that bitcoin is really big for ethereum, ethereum cannot really overtake the bitcoin because because bitcoin is already been trusted by so many investors in the crypto feild, if we talk about popularity thereum and bitcoin is almost the same, but if we are going to compare the price base on the demand bitcoin is still the king.

I think ETH to take over the position of bitcoin is not possible because bitcoin for now is superior to ETH, including in price and price movements follow bitcoin and most investors tend to be dibitcoin which has maximum strength

I don't think that can ever be possible. Bitcoin will forever keep ruling them all till crypto never exist again... Apart from ethereum no other coins can even overthrown it's position.

The popularity of ethereum does not match with bitcoin. Bitcoin has got popularity since before ethereum came into existence. Its has to take many factors before ethereum outsmart bitcoin

It looks like impossible yet possible. I know how creepy the motion of crypto as it is in volatile world at all times if possible. Overtaking bitcoin is a kinda scary threat to change the kingship in crypto. Time will tell of the things to come.

Hello friend, Etheruem, in my opinion will not overtake Bitcoins. Bitcoin remains unbeatable now or in the future. If you take look at the coinmarketcap updates from the beginning of crypto, you may understand that no coin has come close in all the rating eg, the price, marketcap, and volume. I think Bitcion will remain the king for a very long time to come. Thanks

I don't believe that ethereum can overtake Bitcoin even so many years passing by because Bitcoin is too strong compare to ethereum and other crypto currency and Bitcoin also holds as the most popular and trusted investment by do many people world wide.

I think Ethereum will remain number 2 on the top 100 CMC list, because Ethereum is a coin that has a lot of inventory unlike Bitcoin which is only 21 million. and also Ethereum is Altcoin. So I think Ethereum will never overtake Bitcoin for a short time, it requires a lot of time.

Ethereum will defeat Bitcoin when Ethereum really can be independent and free from the market influence of Bitcoin. I don't know when Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin. I think Ethereum still hasn't thought about it to be able to overtake Bitcoin. I don't have enough information about that, but in the crypto world no one is impossible, ethereum has a smart contract that can be used by companies that want to start their ideas and businesses, ethereum might be able to overtake bitcoin but not for this year.

ETH blockchain has recently had some issues with transactions delays. I had to wait few ours for coins transfer, which never happened before (usually 30-50s). One of the improvements they want to implement is plasma protocol. This system allows for potentially billions of transactions to happen off chain. When it happens we probably should see increase of ETH value. But, will it be enough to catch up BTC? We'll see in next few months

I am a very practical person who believes nothing is impossible in Cryptocurrency world.
Under normal circumstances, etheruem can never overtake Bitcoin because Bitcoin is the wheel in through which etheruem came to be.
Again, Bitcoin is more popular than etheruem when you talk about acceptability.
I do not want ignore the fact that nothing is impossible in crypto.
So I think etheruem overtaking Bitcoin could be a possibility but definitely not any time soon.

According to my analysis bitcoin is difficult to defeat due to strong enough built foundation. It is rooted and won't be move unless kill the cryptocurrencies.

I do not see the ETH ever beating the BTC. Even if there is a probability, it will not be anytym soon. ETH has great features and backing but the BTC has the massive global market patronage and that alone makes a coin thrive.

I think it will be never happen. Because bitcoin is the oldest and first coin in crypto world. I believe eth will be more valuable in the future . Maybe eth can hit to 10k in one day but i believe bitcoin will be hit 100 k or 150 k that day . So i always think bitcoin is the boss and it will continue to be boss.

Bitcoin is really big enoughf to be beaten by ethereum, I believ ethat ethereum cannot overtake bitcoin at all. With regards to the popularity and people's trust both coin are almost the same. But if we take a look on its price base on the demand maybe bitcoin is still the number one Coin in crypto.

I don't think that gonna happen but I have also been thinking if altcoins can be increasing in btc value then one day it will make up with btc to be a ratio of 1:1 or even more than but as things go I don't think is that easy but anything can happen I future.

Last year, Wherein was performing very well and it even got to $800, but the story is different this year. Ethereum has fallen so low in terms of price and we don't even know if it will come back again. I don't think Ethereum can overcome Bitcoin.

Honestly. I don't know whether Ethereum will be able to defeat Bitcoin or not. What is clear Ethereum will be a good coin and has great potential in the future. For me, it can never reach out bitcoin. Since the Alts revolve around the main cryptocurrency which is bitcoin. There are market analyst that predicted the ethereum to get lower if I'm not mistaken but its either they just want people to sell their holdings of etheruem in order for some whales to get it, have it in a bull run and earn through deception.
