Title: Huobi in Russia: exchange, mining hotels, education
Post by: Paha87 on November 08, 2018, 06:37:29 PM
The Russian branch of digital asset exchange Huobi is scheduled to open on November 12 with a Russian-language website and local support service. The global crypto-exchange will launch an accelerator to support Russian blockchain startups and mining projects, as well as create an educational program.

Huobi Global CEO Edward Chen and head of the Russian office Andrey Grachev announced the launch date at the Blockchain Life conference in St. Petersburg this week. According to the announcement, the branch will provide round-the-clock online user support and will have a call center with Russian-speaking account managers.

The crypto-exchange Huobi, which is currently the third in terms of trading volume, also plans to create an accelerator for blockchain projects in Russia. The incubator will look for promising start-UPS in partnership with a network of regional chambers of Commerce throughout the Russian Federation.

Educational program
The Huobi office will also launch an educational program that will focus on cryptocurrency and distributed Ledger technology. The exchange will cooperate with leading Russian universities and other organizations to implement the educational initiative.

According to Grachev, the University of Economics. Plekhanova, the oldest Russian business school and the prestigious Moscow state Institute of international relations, is already one of the partners in the educational program. Students will be trained in the specifics of digital asset management, as well as they will be told about the automated and algorithmic trading services offered by Huobi.

Mining-hotels
The Singapore company also intends to participate in the development of so-called mining hotels in Russia.

In recent months, the number of these facilities has been growing exponentially as they offer relatively inexpensive "placement" for small mining farms, which tend to be too noisy and consume a lot of energy.

Rental rates, as reported at the conference, will depend on the nominal capacity of the devices. For example, ASIC - and GPU-farms can be located in a Moscow hotel for 1100-3200 rubles per month plus 5 rubles per kWh of electricity consumed.
