Hello there. I’am professor in the private lab, but I follow the high tech progress also and always try to integrate it into my work. We usually use telegram to exchange useful files, reports with my colleagues ( in the private group chat). Sometimes this files may contain not patent, but revolutionary discoveries, so we need SECURITY. I know today telegram in totally insecure. Could you plz hint me on any alternative ways for files sharing for our lab?
Be so kind and contribute to science:)

I have never heard of such. Can you tell why you chose it?

No. I heard terrible things about the lack of privacy associated with this messenger. why are you so sure about this?

Threema is really decent one whitch end-to-end encrypts all communication including messages, voice calls, group chats, files and even status messages. It's not free, but not expensive. Silence is free, less features, mostly for sms encryption. Both decent choices for communication.

Totally insecure? Nya? Secret chats have great end-to-end encryprion, and it seems to me it would be enough for your coffee-discussions ;)

Jesse, it's time to cook!..but tshhh, be quiet, and use telegram secret chat!.. Or signal...Or silence (but this one supports android only and its interface is looking quite bad (imho)). Anyway, TG is not bad as u just sad.

Please, don't use Telegram for this kind of information. It's very unreliable. They have an access to all your data. Even secret chat may be stolen easily if you know something in IT things.
There are many messengers these days that promise to be quite private ones. Try e-Chat or Threema - I'm sure they will suit your needs.

Yes, they are great cuz have default end-to-end, buts they are also not for free, isn't it?

Agree. Threema have one minus - it's not fee. And don't have infinite storage like telegram.
I don't know anything about e-Chat. Is it good? What unique features does it have?

No alternatives, bro. The only way you may use secure file-sharing servers ... I thought in a secret lab you should have known that)

OTR messaging. It can be added to a number of messaging programs such as the cross-platform app Pidgin. It's also built into other messenger clients such as Signal for Android and iOS.

Something new, thank you bro!
