Title: Google searches for Bitcoin rises as the prices crashes
Post by: dragononcrypto on November 25, 2018, 07:47:35 PM
From Google Trends (https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%203-m&q=bitcoin) via Bitinfocharts (https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/google_trends-btc.html#6m):

Is this significant? It is still down considerably from last December/January, so is this increased interest only due to the price dropping?
I think overall increased interest in BTC is positive in the long-term, even if it's currently only due to the price crashing...

I suspect it could be potential investors researching Bitcoin and planning to come in into the market.
It is a good thing though.

People are busy to analyze the price movement of bitcoin on each exchanges. This is what I guess based on the significant improvement to search for bitcoin. They may try to buy more bitcoin in this second decline period. By the way, I think this topic should be on bitcoin section: https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=18.0

Maybe because of the latest news happening on different countries or online news website. More people are searching and there curiosity are taking them to search about it.

it is true that since December until now the price of crypto or bitcoin has experienced a decline in prices, but I am still very confident and optimistic that prices will be able to return in the future.

Maybe its because bitcoin has gaining attention when U.S laws pummelled crypto-platform that originate and doing business in the united states that has subjected to scrutiny with U.S SEC? and i think falling bitcoin price was nothing to do on increasing google searches about Bitcoin.

The increase in google search is significant. I would assume that the price drop had caught a lot of attention or curiosity of potential new investors and maybe even those that had second thought before because of btc's high price.

I already read this news, people just panic and don’t know what to do, so they study all possible news related to bitcoin, namely why it falls.

After the price has dropped, the interest of those who believe in the viability of cryptocurrency should definitely manifest itself in the near future!

I get the impression that the google trends is more correlated with BTC volatility, not price. This explains why it increases when the prices is mooning or crashing.

It might be that many people are just hearing about Bitcoin and just wanna dive in since the market is crashing. But along the bear run, the bull will soon take over

Personally I don't think people want to dive in now the market is crashing, many will just feel relieved they didn't get in when it was around $20k I think. People are taking an interest due to the price crash, because they are interested in Bitcoins value. I'm not sure it means people will be diving in, a the price is crashing.
More likely there is a decent bounce with another spike of volatility, and the google searches go up as people fomo back in above $4-5K.

Google searches are often used to track trends around the world. Although the price is falling, the trend means that the increase.
