Mike Novogratz, a former Goldman Sachs partner and founder of Galaxy Digital, said that the price of cryptocurrency "the prices will again begin to move" in the first quarter of next year.
During an interview with the Financial Times (FT), Novogritz said that "this year has been a tough one for Galaxy Digital," a company that he hopes will become "Goldman Sachs in crypto," adding that "it's hard to build a business in the bear market."
Novogratz predicted that financial institutions will move from "investing in cryptocurrency funds to invest in cryptocurrency in the first quarter of next year." According to FT, the head of Galaxy Digital also predicted that cryptocurrencies" will turn over next year "as"prices will start moving again".
Not by far
FT also quotes Tim Swanson, the founder of the consulting firm Fintech Post Oak Labs, as saying that Novograth "tried to predict something he has no influence on" when he says "something will happen to the price." Swanson then added that many companies have tried to do what Galaxy Digital is currently doing without much success, concluding " welcome to four years ago!".
The article also cites the anonymous founder of the blockchain company, which says that" one of the biggest challenges for cryptocurrency is the lack of reliable trading banking, "and that Galaxy Digital is"well placed to take advantage of new markets."
According to the FT, Novogratz said, "it's easy to be skeptical, but something's going on", noting cryptocurrency event, headed by major figures in traditional Finance.
Bakkt and Fidelity
In particular, Novograts cites the upcoming participation in the Bakkt crypto-sphere, a digital asset platform created by the new York stock exchange operator (NYSE), and digital asset management services for institutional investors recently announced by a major investment firm Fidelity.
This week, the chief commercial officer of the global cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay also said that these two steps on the part of the traditional financial sector will cause the following main price actions in the crypto market. Chief operating officer, Sonny Singh, ventured to assume that bitcoin (BTC) would reach $15'000-$20'000 by the end of 2019.
