The us leading crypto-company, Coinbase, has launched support for Zcash (ZEC) on its Coinbase Pro platform designed for institutional investors.

Zcash is a cryptocurrency based on a decentralized blockchain designed to make transactions more private than the bitcoin (BTC) blockchain. The" view keys "option of Zcash is used to allow individuals to see sensitive information about users' transactions. Browsing functions can be used to audit or share information by individuals, without disclosing all data publicly.

A statement on the company's blog notes that the Coinbase Pro platform will start accepting incoming zcash transfers, while depositing funds will be carried out at least 12 hours before the start of trading. Also, the platform notes that ZEC trading will start only after sufficient liquidity is established.

Coinbase indicates:

ZEC trading will be initially available to Coinbase Pro users located in the US (except new York), Canada, Singapore and Australia. More jurisdictions will be added subsequently.

Coinbase also emphasizes that ZEC trading is not yet available at Coinbase.com and in mobile applications for which the company will make a separate announcement later.

The blog Coinbase Pro noted:

ZEC trading will go through four stages which include only transfer, only post orders, only limit orders and full trading. While the first two stages will allow users to transfer ZEC to their Coinbase Pro accounts and send limit orders without matching, the other two will allow customers to match limit orders and finally fully trade in pairs with other altcoins.

Earlier this week, Coinbase Wallet added support for Ethereum Classic (ETC), allowing users to view, send and receive ETC to their addresses.

As we wrote earlier, yesterday Coinbase launched over-the-counter (OTC) trading for institutional clients. Christine Sandler, head of sales at Coinbase, said that "this move is taking place after the growth of demand for OTC (OTC) cryptocurrency trading among institutional players."

After Coinbase announced, the price of Zcash rose from $ 82 to $ 93. According to CoinMarketCap, at the time of printing, the token is trading at $87.78, the market capitalization is about $ 469 million, while the daily trading volume is about $ 172.7 million.
