"Mayweather agreed to cough up the $300,000 he received, another
$300,000 as a penalty and about $14,775 in interest. Mayweather
also agreed he would not promote any securities for the next three
years and that he would continue to cooperate with the
investigation."

This must really hurt! Get paid $300,000 to promote an ICO only to turn around and lose $614,000 in fine. He will be more careful next time.

So sad to know that. However, it is the risks. I'm sure that your portfolio will be better when you can make it in the next bullrun. I think that some people also faced and experienced the same points. This is just a bad time for us. and we are still waiting for the next better market and system.

The penalty might be harsh but the SEC has to be tough on these celebrity promoters. SEC also protects the gullible fans from falling into investments they do not really understand and just did it because a celebrity said so.

Yeah the fine does seem harsh. Maybe he is been used has an example to deter others from doing same. I do hope SEC turns its focus on all those YouTube shillers real soon because they also do some damage with their channels.
