Post by: sirty143 on December 15, 2018, 09:35:24 AM
Blockchain 3.0 platform æternity, which aims to provide transparent governance, efficient and global scalability, has unveiled two charity foundations in Liechtenstein and Bulgaria that will offer educational support and grants to innovative blockchain initiatives.

In a press statement sent to Cryptovest, æternity said it would offer scholarships to provide blockchain enthusiasts with the opportunity to secure a recognized qualification related to the technology and embark on a career in the space. The launch of the foundations represents a significant effort from æternity to bridge the gap between blockchain technology and society.

æternity Crypto Foundation Board Member Peter Schnürer commented:

“The Foundation will offer research support, the driving force behind advancements in the industry, as well as assisting smart, unconventional thinkers as they explore this technology and we encourage all blockchain innovators to apply. It will also help startups expand the potential of their creative work in a collaborative, dynamic environment. We are committed to driving blockchain innovation by supporting a broad spectrum of the blockchain ecosystem and look forward to a variety of applications from disruptive projects in the space.”

Schnürer is a notable figure in the Liechtenstein blockchain space and was also instrumental in the drafting of the Liechtenstein Legal Blockchain Act as part of an expert group.

According to the firm, the foundation in Liechtenstein will have a global focus while the Bulgarian initiative would support projects across the Balkans. The two foundations seek to boost the evolving blockchain technology by accepting applications from promising individuals, groups and non-commercial projects by providing the funding support to focus on research and development.

It added that the æternity Crypto Foundation, which will be based in Liechtenstein, is primarily focused on offering development and researching initiatives in blockchain technology, mathematics, and cryptography. It will provide grants of up to more than $1 million in cryptocurrency to innovative blockchain projects that are expected to have a major impact on promoting further and harnessing the potentials of the distributed ledger technology.

æternity Foundation Bulgaria  chairman of the board and aeternity CBDO Nikola Stojanow added:

“With the disconnect that exists between emerging technology and mainstream society, it’s important to bridge this gap to spread the benefits of blockchain technology as widely as possible. There’s a significant amount of untapped potential in the Balkans, and the launch of the æternity Foundation Bulgaria will help to put the region on the blockchain map.”

He said he looks forward to seeing the potential of Balkan talents tapped for research about revolutionizing projects like their institutional counterparts.

Similarly, peer-to-peer Bitcoin marketplace Paxful announced the completion of a second school building in Rwanda that was funded entirely by Bitcoin to teach children the basics of financial and technology education, while at the same time showing them about peer-to-peer finance.
