More than $2 Billion USD Poured Into Bitcoin (BTC) within 45 Minutes

An interesting scenario is currently happening in Bitcoin’s market cap were over $2 billion USD has poured into the BTC market cap within 45 minutes.

No, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Bulls are here or somewhere near, totally not this. It’s the interval of time (45 minutes) and the amount of money (over $2.25 billion) what makes this BTC move a bit extraordinary.

The data suggest, that on December 17, 2018, 14:09 the market cap of Bitcoin (only) was $57 438 809 785 USD, and after 45 minutes the market cap becomes $59 689 133 198 USD. This is quite a drastic surge right here and we highly believe this is not any type of bug.

Stop Losses Triggered?

This soar of the Bitcoin’s price might actually be a healthy move for markets as stop-loss positions have just triggered for all SHORT positions traders. It really might be a catalyst for the market to better consolidate itself as short traders will be ‘lost’ for a while. More on that, additional volume is always good.

This may not be the bull run that everyone has been anticipating for months as the article suggests but it is always good to see some market recovery. I hope bitcoin will close the year on a $5K level.

A very good post even I get a pretty big profit from this increase of bitcoin ..
Am I selling it?
Certainly not !!
I will continue to hold bitcoin that I bought when bitcoin fixed the base price.
Hopefully this will be a good start for bitcoin and hopefully bitcoin will continue to jump higher and I will get ready to go to the moon.

Bitcoin closing at $5000 by the end of the year may not happen. We will probably see more sell off at the final week of 2018.

We will have to see that but I see your point. Some may still be waiting for a better price to sell to have more fiat for the holidays.

This is really good news for bitcoin in future, you can imagine if most investors know this good news, Bitcoin will be pump and I think this is can be the start line for bitcoin to the moon again, but I hope this is not a whales action which can sell their coin whenever they want.
In one side this is can be a good news even can be bad news, that depend by the holders, if they sell their coins, the market will be fall again

I'm just curious about the stop loss trigger, if all short order liquidated and the total of them was $2 Billions, than in the oppisite site it must have the same value for long position, but who can have such a large amount of that money to liquidation all short position? Must be a very big big whale behind

Only those with large holdings "whales" can short the market. I do not remember the name of that guy that says bitcoin is a bubble and he's openly admitted that he's actually shorting BTC.

yes, it's true that more than $ 2 billion is contained in bitcoin, and I think this is one of the causes of the current increase in bitcoin prices, and I hope that this will always go up in the future.
