Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Let's discuss it.. ;)
-
Bitcoin can really survive with any altcoin, but the beauty of the cryptocurrency business is that there are other coins to rate along with Bitcoin.
-
I'm sure you already know this, but suffice to say that Bitcoin is in a world of its own and will continue to be the catalyst for the growth of altcoins. Should altcoins die off, BTC will still survive IMHO even though it will see a lot apathy like we're experiencing with the bear market condition.
-
if I think it can, bro. because bitcoin is the center and also the king of all altcoins. so that Bitcon can stand up and run without an altcoin bro .
-
It should not even be questioned. How many years has Bitcoin been around before the first altcoin existed?
-
Already at this stage, Bitcoin can exist without Altcoins and Altcoins can exist without Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is already quite strong, many people already know about it, so I think that the point of no return has long been passed.
-
It should not even be questioned. How many years has Bitcoin been around before the first altcoin existed?
As the goals for changing the goals, every supports are needed. Who knows it can reach all the goals or never if no supports from altcoins. However it is interesting to discuss, I am curious with community responses. Just enjoy it, mate.. ;)
-
If altcoin dies, BTC will survive IMHO even though it will look a lot apathetic as we experience with bear market conditions. I am sure you already know this, but enough to say that Bitcoin is in its own world and will continue to be a catalyst for altcoin growth.
-
I think both coins bitcoin as well as altcoin survive without each other because cryptocurrency market is very strong. Both have potential to survive.
-
What I do know, Cryptocurrency is strong enough, many people already know it, so I think that the point of no return has long passed. Bitcoin can exist without Altcoins and Altcoin can exist without Bitcoin.
-
It is very possible that bitcoin can still survive without an altcoin. Because bitcoin is a payment tool that can be used for various purposes. And if there is no altcoin, the price might be more expensive than now. Because it will dominate the market singly without competition.
-
I think all this time the altcoin is balancing prices and suppressing the rise in bitcoin prices that are too high. Bitcoin without altcoin will make the price of bitcoin in control and very risky for a big dump.
-
Bitcoin can definitely survive without an altcoin. Everything will work as well as the currency that is used everyday. Single use of bitcoin will make the price very volatile and high.
-

Of course Bitcoin will survive without altcoin. Because bitcoin is the first of crypto currency. It ever exist without altcoin in last time.
-
Bitcoin can obviously stand on its own. It has proven that many times already. Also, it does not altcoins to achieve its goal as an alternative to fiat.
-

In my opinion the price of bitcoin will affect the value of all crypto currency. So, I think Bitcoin will exist without altcoins. It is my opinion.
-
I think survive bitcoin without altcoins is impossible because bitcoin and altcoins both are dependent on each other. When bitcoin price increasing /decreasing simultaneously altcoins prices also decreasing /increasing.
-
It can survive without altcoins for sure. Remember altcoins copied the concept of being a digital asset from bitcoin. During the creation of BTC, there is no altcoins that exists.
-
Yes of course, bitcoin would survive without altcoins.
Remember the fact that it was the creation of bitcoin that gave rise to the era of altcoins.
Without bitcoin, there wouldn't have been altcoins.
-
Yes bitcoin can survive without altcoin, don't forget that bitcoin is strong enough to be on it own and there are some things that altcoin has equally emulated from bitcoin.
-
There is no doubt that it can survive without altcoins provided that it continues to serve market demands. I am interested to know what you mean by "it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world". Can you be more specific with that?
-
100% Bitcoin will survive without altcoin, but its hard for altcoin to survive without Bitcoin.
-
it perhaps conceivable that bitcoin can even now get by without an altcoin. Since bitcoin is an installment apparatus that can be utilized for different purposes. What's more, if there is no altcoin, the cost may be more costly than now. Since it will overwhelm the market independently without rivalry.
-
Bitcoin has been surviving before all other altcoins and I don't see it dying because are not in existence.
-
Bitcoin can survive even though there are no altcoins. It has been proven in previous years. But you are right that it will be difficult to improve if we have no altcoins like today. Altcoins are the factor that make it more popular and strong.
-
~snip~I am interested to know what you mean by "it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world". Can you be more specific with that?
I think it refers to the global finance and world economy. I saw some people on several discussion state that bitcoin can improve global finance and help the world economy with its advantages. It is what I guess, sir.
-
Bitcoin can survive without altcoins like it did for a long time. But most of the altcoins can not since most of them are not related to the real-life actions.
-

In my Opinion Bitcoin can survive without altcoins, because Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency. It is pioneer of crypto.
-
Bitcoin cant survive without altcoins! Because altcoins motivate world! Technologies! Create new type of our mind. Only crypto can destroy corruption. This evil will be die.
We want change our life for somethings beatifull and new!
-
I'm sure bitcoin is able to survive without bitcoin, but I'm not sure if there is no altcoin bitcoin can survive or not, because it can be seen the rise and fall of altcoin prices is also due to BTC.
-
Bitcoin has become the household name people know the crypto by bitcoin ,altcoins are the resultant currency though having equal worth and strength.
-
I think the market will not be good if there is only bitcoin. Investors and traders need other coins to maximize profits. that's what I think for now.
-
If there is only bitcoin, the market will easily saturate and not make people interested in using crypto. The purpose of the altcoin is to make price competition and make prices stable.
-

How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. I see Bitcoun price will affect the value of all altcoin. Because bitcoin is the King of crypto. currency. So, I think bitcoun can survive without altcoins.
-

I think Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency. Bitcoin existed before the altcoins. I believe bitcoin can survive without altcoins.
-
I think bitcoin can still survive even without altcoins and this is proven already because bitcoin is the first crypto to introduce in the digital market and the launching is very successful.
-
Bitcoin will survive no doubt . I will say even more-cryptocurrency tightly enters our lives and will only continue to strengthen.Yes, many coins will disappear but bitcoin and the crypto-currency industry will not go anywhere.
-
Back then, bitcoin survived without altcoins. The functions of bitcoin and altcoins should not put it to end because the cycles of crypto will become imbalance. The relation of altcoins and bitcoin is in Balance position due to chemistry of investmenrs.
-
Bitcoin will surely survive with out any altcoins but having the alts are much way to create competition and having option to use one or the other which is the best for any good market.
-

I think bitcoin and altcoin are intertwined. If there is no bitcoins how the altcoin will stand up because the bitcoins are the king of altcoin and on the other hand, if the altcoin does not exist then the bitcoins will very long go up and the market does not get the new money from altcoin
-
I think that altcoins can't survive without BItcoin but on the other hand BITCOIN can survive if every alts will die because it's dominance is big (more than 50% of market capitalization) and it's still the most known and traded crypto.
-
maybe otherwise the altcoin will not survive without bitcoin because all markets depend on bitcoin, I think this is a fact not an opinion, because bitcoin is the king of crypto
-
BTC will still survive It should not even be questioned. Bitcoin can exist without Altcoins and Altcoins can exist without Bitcoin. because cryptocurrency market is very strong.
-
if the altcoin isn't there then bitcoin will be very long up and the market doesn't get new money from altcoins. I think bitcoin and altcoin are interrelated. If there is no bitcoin, how will the altcoin stand because bitcoin is the king of altcoin.
-
Bitcoin will actually survive even if no altcoin exist. Bitcoin has been the first and has survive throughout this time with no altcoin beside untill recently
-
I think Bitcoin can do well without other altcoins due to different blockchain governing them. The pairing of other altcoins to Bitcoin is just to assist others altcoins in price movement
-
Bitcoin has been created without altcoins. So if altcoins don't exists (suppose), Bitcoin will exist without the any help of other coins. But we don't want this situation never. Altcoins are enhancing the beauty of Bitcoin. So Bitcoin and altcoins are now like the fingers of a hand.
-
In my opinion, of course, Bitcoin will survive if there is no Altcoin, because beforehand it was indeed not Altcoin, Altcoin is a coin that is aimed at coins other than Bitcoin, so coin coins that amount to thousands are called Altcoin or alternative coins,
-
Bitcoin can really survive with any altcoin, but the beauty of the cryptocurrency business is that there are other coins to rate along with Bitcoin.
-

Let's discuss it.. ;)
I always believe Bitcoin can survive without altcoins. Because Bitcoin is pioneer of crypto, It is the first of crypto currency.
-
In my opinion, i think Bitcoin can exist and survive very well. It has been around for sometime without any altcoin. But who knows what will happen. Nobody can predict the future. We will get to know soon
-
suffice to say that Bitcoin is in a world of its own and will continue to be the catalyst for the growth of altcoins. Should altcoins die off, BTC will still survive IMHO even though it will see a lot apathy like we're experiencing with the bear market condition
-

But none of the two will ever die. Do you thinks companies will allow that for there project to just die? Some may not make it but there are some that will really stay especially if their service is mostly use.
-
Bitcoin and altcoins cooperate to each other. One can't survive without each other. Bitcoin directly and indirectly depends upon altcoins. Bitcoin without bitcoin cash and bitcoin cash without bitcoin impossible.
-
Bitcoin is the king and can stands on it own, Bitcoin can survive without other altcoins due to it's implementation to physical world and I think it's gonna ride on
-
One thing of interest is that both bitcoin and altcoins create competition in the market. Bitcoin existing alone will be monopolize by very few whales and there may be no mass adoption like the way it is today.
In my opinion, i think they need each other for a good market options as far as traders and investors are concerned.
-
If it was possible, other projects would have already ceased to exist, but since it is impossible - it did not happen.
-
There will be a lot of altcoins and as I know what drives the price of Bitcoin is actually members of the crypto community who are more familiar with this coin, the first blockchain is in Bitcoin and altcoin is developing blockchain technology like ETH, XRP and Waves, they have their own blockchain technology and have done some testing with the products they make, I think Bitcoin and Altcoin still have to be together because they fill each other's shortcomings
-
Bitcoin and altcoins both are dependent each other by directly or indirectly. When bitcoin price increasing and decreasing simultaneously altcoins prices also increasing, decreaseing.
-
bitcoin can indeed survive without altcoins, but altcoin can also survive without bitcoin but is not completely small.
if bitcoin can survive without altcoins, it is caused because bitcoin has always been without altcoin as far as I know .
-
Bitcoin is in a world of its own and will continue to be the catalyst for the growth of altcoins. Should altcoins die off, BTC will still survive IMHO even though it will see a lot apathy like we're experiencing with the bear market condition.
-
As you say, I also think so. Bitcoin can still survive even without Altcoin. But the development of Cryptocurrency will certainly be very slow. Because Altcoin also plays a very important role for the progress of Cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is indeed the number one coin, but it will be more perfect if there are many altcoins. Because actually, Bitcoin and Altcoin are very closely related.
-

Amazon viewpoint, that I think it can't, because bitcoin is so rare and too expensive that no one wants to buy products with BTC really, but altcoins can do it, and the altcoins let bitcoin world be colorful.
-
I think the life of the altcoin depends on the price of bitcoin, because
as long as there are many bitcoin users and growing, bitcoin will continue to survive but, so I think the life of the altcoin depends on the price of bitcoin.
-

How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Of course Bitcoin will exist without altcoins. It has happened, before there is altcoins. Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency
-
I am sure and you certainly know that bitcoin can still survive even without an altcoin. Because bitcoin is a payment tool that can be used for various purposes. And if there are no altcoins, then the price might be more expensive now. Because it will dominate the market alone without competition.
-
Rather Bitcoin will die without altcoins. At the moment, they are creating for him the infrastructure that he alone can not build.
-

I am a little agree with you. I am doubt bitcoin can survive for many years if there are no supports from altcoins. The number of bitcoin is not enough for all people around the world, it should need other things as the alternative coins.
-
Yes of course , bitcoin will survive without other altcoins because it was the creation of bitcoin that brought about the creation of other altcoins.
So technically, bitcoin is their boss and so can stand alone without them.
-
Bitcoin will always survive without the altcoins. Altcoins are an offshoot of bitcoin so bitcoin do not need altcoin to survive. Altcoins are the ones that need continuous existence of Bitcoin for their survival.
-
Of course it can. It was already surviving before altcoins. Altcoins are the later investings for the people who heard bitcoin and come to the market.
-
I think bitcoin can even survive a hurricane ;D
Bitcoin is the king and he does not need any alternative coin to survive for sure. For now I don't think that bitcoin needs any altcoin however if the market percentage falls behind 10% that can depend bitcoin to other altcoins
-

BTC is a big brother. And big brothers don't give a damn
-
Bitcoin has been there without altcoin and will survive without them. Your question is way out of the content. When did altcoin come in place?
-
In my opinion Bitcoin will last, without Altcoin, because Bitcoin is the pioneer of cryptocurrency, while Altcoin is cryptocurrency is crypto intended to compete with Bitcoin, so if Bitcoin without Altcoin will have no effect.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Let's discuss it.. ;)
Yes it can definitely survive but many will lose interest, many speculator go into crypto trading is due to altcoins and bitcoin alone is making crypto to be less interesting and no selection for investors.
-
Bitcoin can survive without altcoins, because the whole world is already using blockchain and bitcoin technologies to achieve various goals, so as long as the demand for bitcoin technology remains, bitcoin is not going anywhere.
-
Bitcoin is an honey badger, it tends to fight it's battle alone, it can stand on its own no matter what happens anyday anytime.
-
I am a bit different with most opinions. I think Bitcoin cannot stand alone in cryptocurrency. It needs supports from altcoins to continue its existence and attract people to utilize the Bitcoin. Without altcoins, it will be difficult to develop.
-
Yes altcoins can survive without bitcoin because bitcoin and altcoins separate platforms. Nowadays many important competitors compete with bitcoin, hence bitcoin market now in danger...ie bitcoin cash (sv and abc)
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. It would not be so interesting if BTC will be the only currency. But if it will happen, I think that it will a very happy time for a lot of people and of course, it will survive.
-
I guess bitcoin will still survive without bitcoin because only altcoins depend on bitcoin. There were already many altcoins has gone but bitcoin remains standing, if you notice all altcoins will dropped once bitcoin will drastically its value.
-

I think not only altcoins depend on bitcoin, bitcoin also depend on altcoins. We do not discuss about the prices only, but focus on how the bitcoin's existence. In this case, I assume that both of them depend one another.
-

I think Bitcoin can survive without altcoins, Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency. It has existed before altcoins there.
-
Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency. It will survive without altcoins because it has the trust and its function in some cases. However, the value will probably not be as high as within the altcoins. It is better that bitcoin and altcoins stay together
-
Bitcoin can't survive without altcoins because if you think cryptocurrency as a kingdom where bitcoin is king and others altcoins similar to soldiers, so you can understand a king don't live without its soldiers. So like that bitcoin don't survive without altcoins too.
-
I think a couple of years ago it was quite feasible, but now altcoins are needed to keep investors within the industry.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency, So I think Bitcoin is survive without altcoins in last year. that is my opinion.
-
I'm sure you already know this, but suffice to say that Bitcoin is in a world of its own and will continue to be the catalyst for the growth of altcoins. Should altcoins die off, BTC will still survive IMHO even though it will see a lot apathy like we're experiencing with the bear market condition. Already at this stage, Bitcoin can exist without Altcoins and Altcoins can exist without Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is already quite strong, many people already know about it, so I think that the point of no return has long been passed.
-
Of course there is no question that bitcoin will survive. The great effect is that bitcoin price will surge very high due to limited supply.
-
As far as I remember, it all started with Bitcoin and there were no altcoins, there was only one coin and nevertheless gained its popularity due to technology, so yes, I think that Bitcoin is fully capable of continuing to exist without altcoins!
-
Without altcoins bitcoin will get more demand and the value of it will increased, Altcoins is just a competent of bitcoin.
-
Without altcoins bitcoin will get more demand and the value of it will increased, Altcoins is just a competent of bitcoin.
I doubt. No altcoins, can ruin the normal scenario between bitcoin and altcoins in the market.
In fact altcoins makes bitcoin more brighter due to common base standard.
Possible Bitcoin is boring investment without altcoins.
-
It certainly can ... because without altcoin even bitcoin will still exist and survive. Even the value could be higher because it doesn't have a rival.
-
We don't just discuss prices, but focus on how to talk about bitcoin. In this case, I assume that it is interdependent. I think not only depends on bitcoin, but also depends on altcoin.
-
in my opinion if there is only bitcoin, maybe people will easily get bored to use crypto. besides the price of bitcoin which will be expensive, people also want coins that have different or better technology. that's why altcoin is needed now.
-
In my opinion, bitcoin can survive without an altcoin, because so far it's the opposite that altcoin can't survive without bitcoin and that has been proven in recent years. For example, when bitcoin experiences a drastic decline, altcoin are the ones who cannot maintain their situation and even lose their value. so I think Bitcoin can stand alone without or with altcoin
-
It is possible, although we are faced with a lot of problems that Bitcoin personally can not solve .
-
No no bitcoin cannot survive without altcoins because altcoins are the soldiers of cryptocurrency Kingdom where bitcoin King... A king never survive without his soldiers.
-
No no bitcoin cannot survive without altcoins because altcoins are the soldiers of cryptocurrency Kingdom where bitcoin King... A king never survive without his soldiers.
For Bitcoin and the altcoins to stand a chance of survival , they must infiltrate the financial industry and overhaul the established systems. He who adapts he will survive.Chances are the same depends on them.
-
Yes, can. bitcoin can survive without altcoins. but, it's strange if the only Bitcoin is the digital currency that exists. prices will not rise and fall dramatically. and maybe people will get bored because they only sell and buy bitcoin.
-
I'm sure you know the answer to this. The question should be can altcoins survive without bitcoin? Bitcoin was the only cryptocurrency existing a couple of years ago and it was doing well as far as I remember before altcoins came about, definitely it will survive without altcoins on its own.
-
Bitcoin was the first and only cryptocurrency years back and it survived without any altcoin. Why do you think it won't survive without altcoins,? In my opinion, altcoins are like competitors to bitcoin but not withstanding, it will definitely survive without altcoins.
-
Bitcoin is a strong enough coin not to depend on altcoins...but it is also heavily dependent on governments, regulators and supervisors, and this does not have a very good effect on decentralization.
-
Altcoins push bitcoin and making it grow. Competition is a good thing absolutely in any field.
-
Bitcoin has no obstacles to survive alone, it is absolutely very possible since it doesn't depend on the others. But popularity of crypto coins cannot be improved by bitcoin only. So, this is the role of altcoins to support bitcoin and they can develop together finally.
-
All the altcoin were trade against bitcoin. Besides, bitcoin is the first crypto currency and other altcoin creator review the bitcoin code in order to create their own version of coin which one the reason why people trust in bitcoin the most. But it good to have the altcoin around though in other to create some sort of competition in the crypto market.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Let's discuss it.. ;)
Bitcoin surviving on its own is possible but i think the interest level in cryptocurrency will drop the variety in cryptocurrency is very limited and i does not think that just based on bitcoin volatility and technology will make any changes even in long run .
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. I think Bitcoin will survive without altcoins.. Because Bitcoin ever exist before altcoin there. Bitcoin is the first of crypto currency
-
I think that BITCOIN can survive without any problems without altcoins...but on the contrary no altcoins will survive without BITCOIN because its dominance is clear to everyone.
-
Bitcoin has established itself as the first and remains the highest and most dominant cryptocurrency. Although there is a considerable increase in Altcoins, Bitcoin still has the advantage of being widely recognized and of remaining the primary commercial pair in all markets.
-
Bitcoin is the Master of it own All the Altcoins depends on bitcoin , If you can do cross checks you will see how bitcoin is making altcoin struggling at this bear market when ever bitcoin is dump the whole market get dump .. And there is no project backing bitcoin but its still leading in can tell you when bitcoin falls the whole crypto market will fall ..
-
Always bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency in cryptomarket still whole cryptomarket is depends on bitcoin . Bitcoin is the main exchange pair of all altcoins and bitcoin is the easy way to convert local currencies. So definitely bitcoin survive without altcoins.
-
Perhaps before it was quite possible, but now many investors need a variety that is given by altcoins.
-
Altcoins force Bitcoin to develop and the entire industry as a whole to go in the direction that is better for the consumer.
-
Quite an easy question, especially if we take the fact that now a large part of the entire market capitalization in the hands of altcoins.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. I think It has happened, Bitcoin is the first of crypto. Bitcoin has survived before altcoins there. It is my opinion. I think.
-
Yes, Bitcoin can survive without altcoins. It has showed to folks for years to survive, the price is also not influenced by altcoins. It seems Bitcoin quite independent. The improvement will always continue since Bitcoin is the main coin on crypto space.
-
Altcoin and bitcoin will always be there, because we can see how many altcoins nowadays, even though only a few large and some altcoins are developing, the development of the crypto world is very rapid, so many altcoins are popping up, altcoin can stand without bitcoin ...
Thank you..
-
I think Bitcoin may well survive without altcoins, but still some altcoins must exist, for example, such as ethereum, since almost 90% of all altcoins are created on the blockchain ethereum. Ether is smart contracts! I think it also has a bright future. So I advise you to keep air in your portfolio too, I think he will also give good X in the future.
-

BTC is a part of altcoins. It is just another coin so it can survive and will survive. As I remember that crypto coins existed a long time before BTC.
-
Altcoins have become part of the market, which is very necessary for us all, for the qualitative functioning and development of the industry.
-
Bitcoin might be able to survive without an altcoin. but I am sure, there will be problems if you only sell and buy bitcoin in fiat pairs. there will be large price fluctuations between btc and fiat. if that happens, I think there will be a problem for this world.
-
~snip~ As I remember that crypto coins existed a long time before BTC.
Are you sure? What are the names of those crypto coins? I am very interested in your statement. Actually I don't know about crypto coins created before Bitcoin. If you know well about it, please share to me..
-
Bitcoin is the first Blockchain technology and it's God of cryptomarket still bitcoin is high valuable and high trade volume coin in cryptomarket actually the whole cryptomarket is depends only bitcoin so definitely bitcoin can survive without altcoins.
-
bitcoin can survived without the aid of bitcoins. but the altcoins can not do that same thing. trading options made a huge direction.
-
It can certainly stand firmly because Bitcoin is created without the need for altcoins.
Altcoins is just something strange that was created when Bitcoin began to fame and received a lot of people.
-
Yes Bitcoin can survive without alternatecoins. Bitcoin is the mother of all Coin or token and have been striving without the altcoins. Some of the altcoin depends on Bitcoin to rise in price
-
Yes bitcoin will survive without altcoins still bitcoin is dominating the cryptomarket not only that bitcoin is the top internet currency thus lotof transactions are happening through bitcoin network and all cryptocurrencies exchanges depends only bitcoin.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Let's discuss it.. ;)
Definitely bitcoin is able to survive without altcoins, but it will not be as interesting to invest in bitcoin. I assume that most people get to know investing in cryptocurrency is due to the incredible profit altcoins can make if just bitcoin alone is very possible that it will drive many crypto users away.
-
I will invest only in Altcoin. For me, bitcoin is not an actual topic now, but it will last a little longer.

In my mind the most important question is SHOULD Bitcoin continue.. It's like if you bought Ford stock but the never stopped making Model Ts. They improved the factory, it's safer and safer. More infrastructure and sales channels are opening up for it... But it's pretty slow and basic in functions. Is legacy enough to justify its eternal existence?
-
Bitcoin will survive because all altcoin get a place to trade with BTC, in all crypto exchanges I can see BTC is always a concern and altcoin is a complement that provides ideas with new technologies that can be used for transactions faster than Bitcoin.
-
Without altcoins, Bitcoin cannot absolutely survive. After all, altcoins are the development of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin - the ancestor, the altcoins - the continuation of the revolution in society. Therefore, altcoins are the future.
-
Definitely. I think bitcoin can survive without altcoins because bitcoin influences other alternative coins in cryptocurrency.
-
Bitcoin can actually survive without altcoins but may be a bit difficult, one good reason why crypto sphere is so interesting is that we have so many project with different usecase, i guess it will be difficult for bitcoin to function in all the aspects the alts are functioning.
-

It's true that bitcoin can live without an altcoin, but the altcoin is needed by small investors to make a profit
-
Definitely. I think bitcoin can survive without altcoins because bitcoin influences other alternative coins in cryptocurrency.
What is certain is that bitcoin can live alone without an altcoin, bitcoin is the parent of altcoin.
-
Bitcoin can't alive without altcoins because all altcoins, bitcoin and Ethereum are interrelated with each other. A kingdom never exists without soldiers... As bitcoin never exists without altcoins..
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Let's discuss it.. ;)
Bitcoin to Alts is like the gold for Fiat, even if their will be no use for Bitcoin in our life it will still their the master for alts.
-
Bitcoin is the first Cryptocurrency, and bitcoin can develop at that time. but Remember the name Bitcoin can be famous as it is right now because of the many altcoins that enliven this Cryptocurrency market. That is, Bitcoin can live without Altcoin, but it can't be developed this fast.
-
~snip~ but the altcoin is needed by small investors to make a profit
Are you sure that altcoins just needed by small investors?
I doubt your statement. Ethereum and XRP are also altcoins, but I believe that big investors and traders take attention and utilize them as well. You should take research to claim that only small investors make profits from altcoins. Prove it with data!
-
I think that will be very difficult, because we all know that bitcoin has a big influence on altcoin, so I think altcoin will have trouble without bitcoin.
-
bitcoin can survive 100% right without altcoins but altcoin can not survive without bitcoin. the market rely heavily on altcoin for exchange so bitcoin plays a big role when exchanging other tokens like altcoins for services, holding, etc. altcoins might be many but bitcoin remains one
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Ofcourse Bitcoin can survive without altcoins but the Market is boring without competition and Because bitcoin was set to monopolized the market it can affect the productivity and development of cryptocurrency space thats why its better to have any competition and altcoins is very important.
-
It is obvious that the existence of bitcoin is not held, controlled or even affected by any altcoin. Bitcoin is the number one of crypto currencies, which means it can stand without any altcoin in the market.
-
Although altcoins have created great awareness to the crypto space due to its numbers on the market, Bitcoin will certainly survive without them. Bitcoin has its unique features and services it renders just as any other coin and this is what creates the demand for it.
-

Altcoins are already there and they are not going anywhere. Bitcoin alone, and altcoins more than two thousand. The development of cryptocurrency is now following the path of development of altcoins. Unfortunately, Bitcoin is developing very slowly now. One can discuss whether bitcoin will survive without altcoins, but whether two thousand altcoins can survive without bitcoin does not make sense.
-
Already, Bitcoin and Altcoins can exist independently of each other. It should be borne in mind that Bitcoin appeared first among cryptocurrencies and existed independently for some time when very few people knew about it. Now the technology has already been developed and we are actually talking only about the support of any cryptocurrency by people.
-
I believe that Bitcoin is strong enough as a separate asset, despite the Altcoins. Who would not say, but Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency
-
I believe that Bitcoin is strong enough as a separate asset, despite the Altcoins. Who would not say, but Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency
It is absolutely true that Bitcoin is the father of all crypto coins. And we also don't forget that Bitcoin is the only coin with big influences to the prices of other coins. When the price of Bitcoin is rising or decreasing, it will give direct impacts to others. This is the reason why altcoins cannot survive without Bitcoin. ;)
-
Bitcoin can remain without an altcoin because altcoin is because of bitcoin, many new altcoins are popping up because they reflect on the shining of bitcoin and altcoins that appear hoping to shine like bitcoin, but bitcoin will not be seen as king of the coin, without altcoins and the crypto world will not be even more crowded without the presence of new altcoin that have sprung up.
-
I don't think bitcoin exist to change the world because it can't. Its just another alternative to transactions. To directly answer the question, bitcoin can survive with or without altcoins and that's because its independent on altcoins
-
End purpose for many are going to be rescript. however the aim of commercialism alts for many is to accumulate a lot of btc, stay up for btc to travel up, then sell btc for rescript.
The idea is that investment in alts are going to be a lot of profitable than merely investing in btc. I'm positive everybody is aware of what number alts did the 10x or 100x issue ... btc mounting 10-100x from here is incredibly unlikely. Associate in Nursing altitude with a lower marketcap could also be unlikely to extend that a lot of, however a minimum of it's doable.
-
I think it doesn't last long if Bitcoin doesn't have altcoin support. both altcoin and bitcoin are interdependent and have their respective functions but are still connected.
-
Bitcoin is said to be the king of coins because of its value which has never been overtaken by other altcoins. While the value of bitcoin is high because of the bitcoin technology itself and the team is always solid. between bitcoin and altcoin there are virtues in the structure.
-
I think it doesn't last long if Bitcoin doesn't have altcoin support. both altcoin and bitcoin are interdependent and have their respective functions but are still connected.
Yeah, both Bitcoin and altcoins support each other. Altcoins makes Bitcoin be stronger and be a way to introduce crypto+Bitcoin around the world. With there are many altcoins, it means there are many companies involved in crypto space. It surely makes Bitcoin to have many supports because altcoins values depend on Bitcoin.
-
in the first place, it doesn't need altcoins to survive it can carry on its own, we have altcoins now, because Bitcoin is open-sourced and decentralized, anyone can do create a token and make it a cloned of Bitcoin.
-
in the first place, it doesn't need altcoins to survive it can carry on its own,
I am not sure if Bitcoin doesn't need altcoins. They have made influences to make Bitcoin and crypto to be popular. With many altcoins, people can know easily about Bitcoin and crypto space. There are more adoptions and participations by creating and developing altcoins.
-
of course, BTC is a great thing to store value. However, for blockchain needs such as database, iot services, fintech, b2b data etc. requires other chains like Ether, Neo, Iota etc. So BTC can store value but cannot succeed other things.
-

How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Bitcoin can indeed survive without Altcoin, but the world of Cryptocurrency will not be as busy now if there is no Altcoin. Remember, Bitcoin is very well known because of the many altcoins that appear, because every new altcoin must carry the name Bitcoin as the parent of all Cryptocurrency coins.
-
Bitcoin was created without any altcoin involved. Altcoins were created following bitcoin to resolve problems that bitcoin couldn't. That said, bitcoin obviously can survive without altcoins. The question should be reversed: Can altcoins survice without altcoins? I guess the answer is no.
-
Someone once asked me this same question. They said to think of it as a king, but all of their knights and nobles died.
-
Yes it can, it actually started alone and then more and more coins forked the bitcoin source code, so yeah it really can, but the existence of altcoins gives boost to the bitcoin's market capitalization as we see, without altcoins I think bitcoin won't reach the current price we have now.
-
if I think that it can still last longer even though many altcoins are dead, because bitcoin is also the most important coin.
-
Yes, I Think bitcoin is the main foundation of cryptocurrency, and it is the first sstart of cryptoworld. Yes, it can still survive but there will be no competitors so the value of coin will either become low or nothing really happens.
-
Of course, Bitcoin will be able to do even better without alts, because all alts in the market take away about 35% of the total capitalization
-
You'd better ask if altcoins can survive without Bitcoin right now. BTC has more than a half of market volume.
-
Since a lot of people ask "will altcoins survive without bitcoin?", there is something interesting in my mind with this. How about if we change the question to be "can bitcoin survive without altcoins?". I assume it can survive, but it will be a little hard to achieve its goals to change the world. Of course, Bitcoin will survive without altcoins. Because bitcoin is the first of cryptocurrency. Altcoins is follower of bitcoin. But, many altcoins will give us many chances to invest in cryptocurrencies.. It is good thing.
-
Bitcoin is the first coin to appear, and at that time there was no altcoin, but bitcoin was able to grow. Even though it is undeniable because of the many altcoins that have emerged that are increasingly bringing the name of Bitcoin increasingly popular. But this does not mean Bitcoin will die without Altcoin, it's a big mistake. Bitcoin will continue to grow and develop without even Altcoin.
-
i think this will be happened, when the blockchain technology complete and everyone accept altcoin, at that time it may have some coin to replace bitcoin or altcoin will survive without bitcoin
-
Of course, Bitcoin will survive without altcoins. Because bitcoin is the first of cryptocurrency. Altcoins is follower of bitcoin.
I think it is not about the first crypto but it is likely as the main coin in crypto space. You can see that to make prices of all coins increasing, it is needed to see the price of Bitcoin increasing firstly. As we know that the prices of altcoins will always follow the BItcoin price.
-
yes I think bitcoin is also the most important coin, if there is no altcoin I also believe bitcoin will also be able to survive, because bitcoin is a future coin and many benefits
-
if I think that it can still last longer even though many altcoins are dead, because bitcoin is also the most important coin.
Bitcoin was OK without altcoins years ago, although it was cheap. If altcoins suddenly die, Bitcoin can become a very expensive cryptocurrency, the monopolist. Suppose it will not happen as some altcoins are very useful even not for investments.
-
I think it will and it will even push btc higher since all the other investment may probably be pushed into btc.
-
Don't you see that bitcoin is already surviving without the help of altcoins, I think we see how bitcoin increased in price value since last two months but did not have any major impact on altcoins everybody was expecting that altcoins will also grow with bitcoin as usual but that did not actually happen altcoins only struggling to rise since the crypto market is some how down.
-
Of course, Bitcoin can survive without alts, and the situation is quite the opposite, that alts cannot exist without Bitcoin
-
Yes bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency it created without any other altcoins and now it has largest market capitalization than any other altcoins actually this is the unique cryptocurrency so definitely it can survive without other altcoins.
-
When we say this I believe we have no clue about the history of Cryptos (https://cryptolinks.com/900/historyofbitcoin), as if we do then I just don’t think we will ever be able to say that. Bitcoin alone is the major part of the history, so if we think that without Altcoins there won’t be any Bitcoin, then it’s just wrong thought. You could think opposite and that will be okay, but for sure but the actual put up way since that makes very little sense at all.
-
altcoin does not have any influence on bitcoin. even without altcoin, bitcoin will still be there. previously, bitcoin already existed without altcoin.
-

Quite right, bitcoin is the basis of all cryptocurrencies, and bitcoin will not go anywhere, because if you will look at the volume trading that happens with bitcoin, then you can easily say that big players prefer to trade with bitcoin rather than with altcoins.
-
Either way, I don't think altcoins, as a whole, are going anywhere.
-
There is no way altcoin can survive without bitcoin. As long as bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency, it can survived without altcoins and truely, bitcoin can survive without altcoin. bitcoin is the first while altcoins came second. the future of cryptocurrency rest on bitcoin. if bitcoin disappeared, Altcoins will follow.
-

I agree, earlier, and without altcoins, bitcoin quietly existed) With its appearance, bitcoin has not changed significantly.
-
in my opinion, with or without altcoin will not affect bitcoin to become the main in crypto.bitcoin will continue to grow and will be sought by its holders.
-

I think that bitcoin alone cannot exist, but this is my opinion, I do not impose
-
altcoin does not have any influence on bitcoin.
Are you sure?
We are not talking about the price, mate. I mean to talk about the general impact, not based on the price point of view only.
previously, bitcoin already existed without altcoin.
Indeed, Bitcoin has already existed before altcoins. But how we can guarantee that it will survive and improve significantly without altcoins. I am not sure it will be so popular and have massive adoption if there were no altcoins to support.

Very much so. Bitcoin was hailed the king on the cryptocurrency market and the most valuable one. Even though some Altcoins in reality have far more effective and unique use cases of blockchain technology, most crypto enthusiasts still regard Bitcoin as the most important asset in all of cryptocurrencies. However as far as i can see, the existence of Altcoins doesn't really matter, Bitcoins will still benefit from the competition. After all Bitcoin is the root of it all.
