Hi Everyone,
As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.
Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

Investing in top ranked coins is supposed to be lower risk since the projects have developed. However, low ranked coins with potential will be suitable if you want bigger profit. In fact, most projects started with low rank. So, I think investing in the ‘right” project is more important than looking at the rank. To find the “right” project, you have to do tons of research.

No matter how hard we try, we will never know a good project, we can do an analysis, but, nevertheless, some projects fail, so I am sure that we all have a bad coin in our wallet ...

most of the top rank coin are good coin to invest in but it still fall back to your worth which you can use to buy the coin as a way of accumulating them , may be in small portion while some have a big bags , so i do invest in most top coin that i see potential in them to be great and have a beeter project to add value not just the market cap worth but must be a great coin .

Nope, there are so many altcoins that is not top 10 or top 100 but has a potential , but we have to research it an check their activity.

Yes, I do. Investing in top ranked coins will be safer. The hard decline like today will make many coins with low market caps potentially lose their investors. So, top coins with high market caps will make my investment quite safe. To invest in not top coins is too risky.

Not always, but commonly I invest in top ranked coins. Top coins are favorite of all crypto holders, it is the same with me. Top ranked coins also provide potential and safe investment. That's why I prefer to buy the top one for investment.

I always invest not only super top ranked coins but also under ranked coins also. Last few days ago I invested HUM and CountinghouseFd tokens besides Ethereum and bitcoin.

Investing in top ranked coin is one of my strategy when I got nothing to do with some spare cash. It minimize risk than invest in other altcoins not so popular.

Yes, for safer or just the first time, I think the investment in top rangked a great selection of coins. But if a little capital, will not get a great profit.

In the bear market I prefer top ranked coins, but in bullish market I go for low and under valued coins because they give higher profit.

I only invest in bitcoin, ethereum, bitcoin cash, bitcoin cash sv, bitcoin cash abc and doge coins, some how i today buy some yumeriumtoken from bione exchange.

Depend the how much money i invest,if is a big amount of money yes,i will buy bitcoin,is the most safe coin on the market,if i will invest a small amout i buy a coin who is not in the top but have potential to gain nice profit.

In my opinion, one of the successes in crypto investing is to pay attention to the top rank coins. In general, coins with the highest rank are far more trusted than coins with lower rankings.

I think investing in the top coins will not always be profitable, I am more inclined to look at the potential and the development of the project itself before investing.

Some to ranked Coin are still not worth investing in. Many still turn out worthless when it gets to the market. I suggest you make well enough research before you invest. Don't believe in the hype

No. I look for the project areas, team and tech that they are using, older projects, token metrics and market cap of the token-coin if I am going to invest into one of them. So it automatically becomes 100+ ranked coins.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no but I always recommend to divers ify the investments rather than sticking to only few assets, all of this coins is very volatile.

Cryptocurrency price movements in the market are very volatile, the price bullish or bearish are normal, most people choose to invest in the top 10 coins in the coinmarketcap because this coin already has a large community and a solid #DevelopmentTeam , different from the ICO coins which have only a small community if the #DevelopmentTeam is not smart enough working on the promised concept according to the roadmap will result in the project failing and the coins will no longer be valuable. the most important of all is analyzing before investing.

most of the time, I am investing only on the top coin on the market cap. If something wrong on the way, I usually just hold the coin because I believe these coins will go up eventually. I am waiting for the bullish market so I could release some of my holding.

investing in the top-ranked coins is much safer especially in this market condition but it is not always better, for example, when you put your money in one of the top-ranked coins you are sure that your money will not just vanish but when you put your money in new coins you face the risk of losing all your money but at the same time the chance of making big profit become much more because when new coins spikes and pump they usually do big ROI. so, in the end, it is totally up to you and whether you prefer safe with low profit or risky with high returns.

Unfortunately not many people have such amounts of money to buy a Bitcoin, I think many who read my answer you agree. But that's not the point. You are right that you need to look at new projects, study them, try to analyze and predict the potential profit that can be obtained by investing in this project.
