Title: Will altcoins be able to get rid of bitcoin?
Post by: ArturChock on December 24, 2018, 04:42:58 PM
Will we ever see (if ever see) the complete independence of the altcoins? Whatever the project, whatever the super-technology, no matter how cool the developers and the huge community are, if Bitcoin goes to the bottom, then the altcoins obediently follow the grandfather, and vice versa. How long? What should happen such that the altos finally feel their intrinsic value, and in general is it possible in principle or will everything always follow the Bitcoin? Market immaturity? Your opinions?

It may happen but the possibility is what I doubt, so I think it is not going to be possible because Bitcoin gain many people trust in cryptocurrency world.

This question is really good. It is very important to understand that nobody can move without having a real life aggreements. As we see, almost %99 of the coins/tokens doesn't have real life connections so they most likely to live if Bitcoin lives.

I don't consider altcoin will survive without bitcoin as we all knows very well bitcoin is the base currency for trading. In my opinion all altcoins has satoshi value because of bitcoin. According to the present market scenario altcoins will keep following bitcoin.

I think that if Bitcoin continues like this, maybe there will be a change of throne for the crypto world, because altcoin won't stay silent after the weakening of bitcoin, seeing the altcoin market now continues to increase day by day

It is possible,  Altcoins will be able to get rid of bitcoin.  But It will take several years again.  Because Bitcoin is so high demand and more popular than altcoins.

In my opinion, anything can happen, so maybe in the future it will really happen, but who knows when. So for now, I do not think that an altcoin can surpass the bitcoin's throne because bitcoin is the pioneer of all of this cryptocurrencies. We know that whatever the status of the bitcoin, the altcoins will follow. Maybe one altcoin can surpass bitcoin one day, but not yet now.

My guess is that the bitcoin was behind the point of the price of altcoin, as the price point was exceeded by altcoin. If altcoin does not seem to be likely to beat the bitcoins, the price of the high bitcoin will be high. It's like a powerful man. He's in charge.

It seems that it will not happen if altcoin defined will exceed the price of Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is central than the current cryptocurrency. But it can be a rival that will happen in the future in use in everyday life. Because Altcoin has one advantage of Bitcoin that is a cheaper price.

I think it's difficult to happen, bitcoin is the main coin and also the strongest. I think for the next 10 years bitcoin will remain the main one and will not be defeated by alternative coins.

people see more price comparisons through bitcoin. I don't understand why that keeps happening. there are at least many altcoins which in my opinion are good than bitcoin.

This Bitcoin dominance is something that has given must crypto enthusiasts some worry. I have been wondering about this situation all to nothing. I think someday the situation may change anf some altcoins may get independence, and not move in the direction of Bitcoin upward or doward fluctuations.

I think Bitcoin still persists and is the first for investment choices.
New Altcoin such as ETH has many advantages but has disadvantages such as many scam projects that can harm investors and there are also other projects that can deceive us all by offering excellence from the products they have.
Keep reading the whitepaper before you buy and invest in new coins.new coins or altcoins have a better future

Maybe we should start by not calling them altcoins. Maybe we should be more specific which coin/s are we referring to that can break free from Bitcoin dominance.

I also submit to the fact that all coins value (except stable coins) still depends on the price movement bitcoin but I do not dismiss the possibility that some of the more established coins will be independent some day. They have to be fully developed (or closed to it) for that to even happen.

Wait until most of major cryptocurrencies get more base pairings other than BTC then let us see what is going to happen.

No actually, Bitcoin has been the great one in which all altcoins depends on either on price movement. All altcoins are paired to Bitcoin which makes Bitcoin the major one

There are very few Coins or tokens who are independent of Bitcoin so they rally no matter the trend of Bitcoin. so definitely it is possible but could take some time

If you watch the stock markets in different country areas and the crypto coin markets, you can get a conclusion that one of them rises, all of them rise this time. However the altcoins must get rid of bitcoin to not rely on it, because altcoins are better than bitcoin.

In my opinion,  It is impossible.  because Bitcoin is the King of crypto currency.  It will exist for along years again.  I believe it.

It is not possible because Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that does not have a #DevelopmentTeam .
If it's like that, then make sure Bitcoin is pure and there is definitely no such thing as greed in the Bitcoin #DevelopmentTeam .

I believe no matter what coins it is be it bitcoin, altcoins, or any coins that will be coming out in the future. If the coin is able to make itself worth it can replace any coin and be the first coin and get rid of any coin in its way.

Highly unlikely. The fact remains that Bitcoin being the world's first virtual currency, is still the most popular cryptocurrency. While there are new coins emerging in the market often, bitcoin tends to fare the best. It has proven to be more stable in the long run than the altcoins. And with limited supply of just 21 million coins, overtime BTC will become increasingly rare and increasingly valuable, thus likely to become the most favored by institutional investors as a store of value.

I think that this is impossible. After a couple of years, many altcoins will disappear, and bitcoin will be very expensive and will always be in the first places.

The project depends on two crypto, they are Bitcoin and Ethereum. If the two are down, it will of course influence the condition of the crypto market and also the crypto project. I think it will be very difficult to be independent from the two because they are very trusted.

How's that even possible, altcoins get rid of Bitcoin?? I guess not the present altcoins at the moment that are all dependent on bitcoin. If any coin is to get rid or overtake bitcoin then its in the future and that coin is not yet in the market I must say.

I dont think so! for me Bitcoin was still the king and the pioneering Crypto-currency entity. And even the top Altcoins cant rid off Bitcoin easily, If we look at the MarketCap we will see clearly that the BTC is the dominant crypto-currency in the term of Market size and value as it was before and after 10 years as in our present time. no doubt Bitcoin are here to stay.
