It depends on the reason they where created for. If the reason is, to provide a solution and have a user base that benefit from that solution, they are here to stay. If they were created for "get money fast" reasons, they do not have a reason to be there, and they will be ignored by the market.

What will people trade with Bitcoin... just fiat currencies? That's boring. And many coins are platforms or are doing things that Bitcoin simply cannot do. If I transact with crypto it's almost never with Bitcoin... it's comparatively slow and expensive. If there were more altcoins it'd be even more slow and more expensive.

Alts have very important use in the crypto world, most are used for specific payment methods for a service. An example is the usage of ledu in education ecosystem. Yes, bitcoin can be used to solve that issue, but crypto means independence, so most companies want to be independent from crypto.

Well, if they said that altcoins are not necessary, I will say that altcoins really can help the Bitcoin to be worthier. What I said is because Bitcoin progress and graphic on the market also will be profitable as long as used for the transaction of any kind of altcoins. There are so many altcoins that have the greater technology. So, why not?

Altcoins is absolutely important to improve cryptocurrency. I assume bitcoin won't survive long time if there are no various altcoins. Altcoins allow many platforms and companies to participate in this world. By many companies or platforms here, the popularity of crypto will increase.

I think theu need its other to survive. Many investors go to crypto currency because of a healthy competition on the market with bitcoin and altscoin. Without alts people will surely lost interest in cryptocurrency making bitcoin to also be put into danger. So I think alts should be here so we investors should have option which is the good or bad.

because not all investors want to save bitcoin, even many who store altcoin.
indeed altcoin is not as expensive as bitcoin, but if you have a lot of it, it's worth the same.

I think that alcoins are useful becaue bitcoin has still some lacks like few privacy compared to privacy coin for example... however there is really no need for these tons of new altcoins...
