I cam across this interesting article (https://www.investmentweek.co.uk/investment-week/opinion/3069880/bitcoin-the-end-of-the-beginning) today titled "Bitcoin: The end of the beginning".
I am just going to highlight some of the points the author made, you can read the full article if you wish.
"In 2017 there began a cascade of Bitcoin headlines lauding the millionaires created by the stratospheric increases in crypto prices. Meanwhile, 'blockchain' became the buzzword on the lips of the business world to rival robo-advice and artificial intelligence."
"In contrast, 2018 ushered in drastic falls in price from around £14,000 a Bitcoin in January 2018 to roughly £3,000 by the end of the year amid declaration of the death of digital money."
"However, while the value of Bitcoin and the overall crypto market plummeted in 2018 the technology continued to develop, even while the amount of money being pumped into the sector cooled."
"The good news for 2019 is that this has smoked out many of the weak start-ups, second-rate schemes and get-rich quick suckers who were particularly taken in by initial coin offerings (ICOs)."
One of the most positive thing that happened in 2018 is that weak and hyped projects were flushed out and left the crypto space to projects with real user cases.
-
I like the word "smoked" that's used by the author. I think that is an accurate description of the 2018 market.
-
It is true that the fall in the crypto market will clear the market of weak startups that have no future prospects. Similar downturns in different sectors of the economy have always worked as an incentive for the development of new strong projects. Similarly, it will happen in the crypto world when it cleans itself of garbage projects that discredit the crypto industry.
-
There will be always new weak start-ups and "get-rich quick suckers". But the quote is correct. Only the strong will survive at the end of the day. And that is good.
-
2018 really became the end of their existence for many projects, but still many projects postponed the start of their ICO until the crypto market recovers and there are still many weak projects among them that will again manifest themselves when the situation improves a little. But in general, the market has cleared and it pleases.
-
Yes, everything is done, done for the better. If the cryptocurrency market after 2017 continued to be pumped up with money, this could have led to much worse consequences compared to the current problems of falling prices and protracted stagnation of the market. 2018 removed most of the random people who came for quick money from the cryptocurrency market. Such people suffered the most.
-
This is true, but still there are a lot of second-rate projects and their coins left on the market, which will not soon disappear from the distance!

Then we will just see if these second-rate projects will survive in this long bear market. They will be lucky if they make it throughout 2019
-
guys , what you think about crypto prospect ?
-
I agree that companies that are willing to work and which will not collect money and run away, they will remain in the cryptocurrency market for a long time, in 2020 when the cryptocurrency will be regulated by governments, everything will change.
-
at the end of 2018 and early 2019, there have been several positive events like your news but the fact that the market has not grown, it's mean that he's not responding to the news, have to wait for something, bolshego
-
Definitely. Since the days of hyped projects are gone, we will expect projects with real use cases to stand out. In a way, I have been thankful to this long bear market. It's unfortunate that some lost funds from investing in weak projects but it provided everyone a good lesson to be smarter.
-
Yes day by day forum is becoming more and more strong and solid.. Fake bounty campaign and airdrops are justified by forum moderators. So only legit and strong only surviving.
-
Of course, only legit coins that can survive well in this bear market. Good coins will be there to survive and never to be dead coins. I think it is the reason why people prefer to buy top coins.
-
Yea sure many of the projects out there will die off in the short term because of no real use cases. Or do I say weak used cases. Only projects with a better product could withstand it the hard times

guys , what you think about crypto prospect ?
I think crypto prospect is very good. There are many positive hope in the future. It is undoubted that the bullrun will happen someday. We need to stay and survive to see it.
By the way, it is a little out of topic. I think next time, you are better to create you own topic for the question like this.
-
its more of the survival of the fitest now since crypto in its stance is dwindling now although its temporal. if your project doesn't meet any need and patronage becomes little, then you are going outta business. Now people want comfort, people want to buy safety.the best coins lives and the weak leaves
-
Yes only strong and legitimate always universal and remaining many unconditional phase... Bitcoin in rough phase stableity and long lasting...
-
The new coin with the same project idea makes the feeling of the price of coins in the market increasing, the new start-up proves that there is still interest from developers to do things that don't yet exist, and good projects will make rich quick when prices rise.
