The regulation of crypto-the translation
The national authority for the supervision of crypto-assets and related activities (Sunacrip), which regulates all crypto-operations in Venezuela, announced that a new regulation on money transfers using crypto-currencies has entered into force.
The decree on the implementation of this rule was published in the official Gazette of the country No. 41,581. Under the decree:
The sender of the money transfers mentioned in this decision is obliged to pay a financial Commission in favor of Sunacrip in the amount of not more than 15% of the total amount of the money transfer. The minimum fee charged by the regulator is equivalent to 0.25 euros (~$0.28) per transaction
"According to the text of the regulations, Sunacrip now has the authority to set limits on money transfers, set cryptocurrency values in sovereign bolivars, specify tariffs and request data from issuers and recipients involved in transactions," explains the local news outlet Criptonotias.
The monthly limit on sending money transfers is equivalent to 10 Petro (PTR), Venezuela's national currency, which the government claims to be a cryptocurrency backed by oil, gold, diamonds and other natural resources. The publication explains:
This limit is $ 600 per month, according to the quote set for the PTR. Any amount exceeding this limit will require Sunacrip approval, which will allow up to 50 PTR ($3'000).
Register of crypto companies
After the initial application of crypto regulation in Venezuela, the government began to adopt rules for accounting for companies and services working with cryptocurrency.
The Ministry of people's power of communication and information explained:
Individuals, legal entities, public and private persons, community councils and other organizations of people's power that intend to carry out activities related to the Unified system of crypto-assets can be registered.
In accordance with the decree, the regulatory authority will appoint the division, "responsible for controlling, monitoring and checking the updates of the data contained in Risec (the Registrar of companies and services related to crypto-currency, which is controlled by the controller Sunacrip)".
